The Labour Government

What has how I voted got to do with the way Starmer and the Labour government have lied and misled the country?

Just askin'
It has nothing to do with it. It’s purely deflection.

The degree of deception around the fiscal ‘black hole’, the apparently fully costed manifesto and then the budget debacle is frankly off the scale. No other way any reasonable person could describe it.

The Chancellor’s lies around her CV, and Starmer’s breaches of Covid laws so that he could receive his voice coaching and acting lessons, are hardly surprising when set against that.

I didn't know Richard Holden was a city fan.

I can see a backlash coming for Musk and his business's, more so in the UK and EU than the US. He should have kept his nose out of politics, he's an odious character.
I’m struggling for a charging point where I live but as soon as that is resolved I will be buying an electric car and it 100% will not be a Tesla.

We just need a PM that can cause hate and division, release hundreds of criminals and thugs, that can declare trade wars with its neighbours and blame any tragic event on gays and blacks.

Maybe that’s why Reform are doing well.
Releasing criminals gets a tick for Keir.

Do you think that an acting coach, providing voice coaching for an opposition MP, should have been classified as a key worker during the pandemic?

Do you think that the government’s response to the pandemic would have been hindered and the delivery of public services impaired if the coaching hadn’t been delivered in person during that particular period of the lockdown?

Interested to hear your thoughts.

I won't be buying an electric car until they are as practical as an ICE. But then it certainly won't be a Tesla. Firstly because they are owned by Musk and secondly they are overpriced awful ugly cars with very tacky cheap interiors.

Agree with your observations on the car but the main motivation is Musk.

There are inherent advantages and disadvantages to both modes of transport but the differentials in tax allowances are insane and we’ve all got to try and do our bit, as futile as it might well be.

Why on earth would you want to revisit this?

It's completely futile nailing the UK and the EU economy to the green mast while the Chinese and Indians are still rapidly expanding coal fired electricity production. We are just pissing in the sea trying to affect global change.

You might be right, but I feel we’ve got to at least try. And if we can do it in a way that’s cost effective then other countries will surely follow.

Cost effective ? If it was cost effective surely the Chinese and Indians would be going down this route.

I'm not a climate change denier, but if western countries are going down this route perhaps they should use what little influence they have in the age of Trump to affect wider change through the WTO and UN. Perhaps they should be encouraging the above organisations to adopt a carrot and stick approach with dare I say it tariffs on goods from countries that are are still increasing CO2 emissions.

I've always thought it unfair for other countries to flout HSE, Social and Environmental controls and regs and import cheaper products into the UK, while we are closing well run factories employing well paid and well looked after workers.

Sorry to go off on a tangent. Musk is still an odious character ;-)

I think the Chinese are tbf. I’m pretty sure the direction of travel there is towards renewables and they are certainly producing an insane amount of solar panels. India, not so much.

I think the big uptick in fossil fuel consumption will be Africa in the decades ahead especially as it will be the only continent on the planet with significant (or possibly even any) population growth in the second half of this century, in conjunction with a huge increase in living standards there.

I can see why the Labour stooges on here wouldn’t want to, but others would likely be interested in another example of Starmer’s dishonesty and hypocrisy, because they’re very relevant factors to what’s happening currently.

Sorry Richard. Why would you want to bring up this voice coach thing when the Tories had a party ten days later?

You must be absolutely mental.

Do you think Kier Starmer fancied a role in Panto or Camden Community Theatre's production of Hamlet?

Chinese CO 2 emissions are still rising.

Right, yeah.

Why would anyone be interested in Starmer breaking the law himself, and knowing that he had done so, when he later said that you can’t be a lawmaker and a lawbreaker, and when he also promised that he would step down if had broken the law?
