There is literally zero point in interacting with Joe. Facts are ignored, insults are thrown and then anyone who tries to add nuance into the debate are negated as “too intelligent” for him.

I’d concentrate on your convalescence and leave the people who want to rant and rave about the same things ad nauseam.

There is no debate to be had. Lines have been drawn and if the country has enough people to have to experience the consequences of voting for these grifting charlatans, then that’s where we’re headed.

If not, this very vocal minority will head back to their local taprooms and be ignored by the majority.

These TV debates are utterly pointless at the best of times.

When Sunak is trying not to lose his own seat, it seems even more moot.

One side says their leader is better and the other side say the other.

The comments on here are pretty much the same as the other TV debates too.

You posted similar to me before. These debates are totally pointless. It just gives journalists something to write about and Twitter to overreact.

Investment in infrastructure is a far bigger issue than a few thousand people crossing on dinghies, but hey, I don’t create the headlines nor rhetoric.

None of them are broken beyond repair. If they were, any discussion would be pointless as the whole country would have collapsed and as far as I can see, that hasn’t happened.

Being cynical is fine, but be careful about not listening to what others say as you then get in cyclical debates which revert back to your opening question as you’ve not listened to the argument. (Which is why I don’t want to debate with you)

I'm not really that bothered about inane insults, it's sticks and stones to my mind, but what you should consider is, over the last 80 years or so, since the end of the 2nd world war, what we have in terms of benefits, isn't normal.

The norm has been a few wealthy individuals taking all the cream, and keeping their minions in poverty. It's been standard practice for hundreds of years, and most of the worlds population currently live in countries with that mindset.

It's been a difficult and, at times, bloody battle over the years to change that attitude. You probably enjoy the benefits our forefathers fought so hard to achieve for our collective benefit. It's a shame you can't recognise you are just as much in the crosshairs of right wing free market capitalists wanting to take all of us back into the grinding poverty that has been, until relatively recently, standard practice.

Take the piss out of lefties all you want, but remember it's lefties that have given you healthcare, paid holidays, employment protections, pensions, consumer rights, food standards, and much more. All of them were opposed by right wing politicians that wanted to keep as much money in their pockets as possible without any concern for the wellbeing of people like you and I, the removal of which is gaining popular support from those, such as yourself, that are blind to what is happening.

This is an outrageous suggestion and together with free prescriptions and free hospital parking just goes to prove they are not fit for office. Bring on anyone other than this load of charlatans!! lol

It’s my first post in this thread for a fortnight. His point is moot.

He’s as much to blame for the thread dying and leaving the recurring dregs that remain.

I stand by my points he so helpfully reposted to highlight what this thread has become.

It also shows when he holds a mirror up to himself that he sees nothing. He’ll be in a perpetual cycle of cynicism and sarcasm. I left that behind when deciding to step back from debating on this thread as there is no point and they just drag you down to their level.

So if that is what she believed (tax thresholds....) why does she not introduce it? I mean she is the Leader in Wales but chooses not to implement this, yet she does support increasing the number of Welsh Assembly members by around 60% next year,

To the number that have left the country but I'm in a minority but as we were once told tens of thousands was the target then cheering because the numbers got so vast that a bit short of half a million is a result is hilarious.

But as I said earlier posters like to spin, not everyone falls for it.

Indeed. It’s intentional to highlight what the thread now is, trying others to snap out of the cycle of misery. It’s great when you’re out of it.

You can just smile whimsically at the posters stuck in Groundhog Day, perpetually moaning about everything.

Go and find some positive things to concentrate on. It’s a far more enjoyable experience to stressing perpetually how shit you perceive things are.

That’s important in all areas of life, not just this miserable subforum.

You shouldn’t be baffled. Reform is on the extreme end of the political spectrum and your politics/attitude is also on the extreme end. You despise centrist politics and their ‘lackey’ supporters. Purity of thought and deed, no cake is better than half a cake and compromise is a dirty word etc., which are features of the far left and far right so to others there is little distinction between the two.

Additionally, your default mode is to snipe and mock which discourages debate. Scoring points or highlighting some perceived hypocrisy is more important than the issue at hand. Smug pomposity is my overriding impression based on your posts.
