It's far and away the biggest story in any football competition, or indeed any sporting competition. If Leicester pull this off, which
is now looking ever more likely, it means an offer of 5000/1 at the start of the season coming to fruition. I have never known, and everyone I
know has never known, anything remotely comparable to it. The scale of it would be utterly jaw dropping, this is not some random heavyweight flattening
Mohammed Ali at his peak in a one off fight, or an apprentice winning the National on an unknown donkey, it's a competition comprising 38 different challenges
that could be won by a team so massively unfancied it defies belief.

I have to agree. What they are doing and what they're on the cusp of defies logic for me. Over the past 20 years, it's been increasingly difficult for a team to do a Leicester in English football due to the ever greater financial power that a small number of clubs hold over the rest of the league.

It was certainly possible to do it in the 70's, 80's, and early 90's despite Liverpool's dominance during much of that time but the general feeling in recent times is that it was literally impossible. They have been helped considerably by the huge downturn in form of all of last year's top 4 but they've still picked up a hell of a lot of points from all the other teams and that has made it feel like a perfect storm for them. They're not there yet and I think Spurs may have a say in it, possibly Arsenal, but they're like a machine at the moment with all these 1-0 wins. It reminds me of Mourinho's Chelsea in their pomp.

With the new TV money and champions league money they should be able to not only keep their players but improve there squad overall,

Haha the old 'improve their squad'........probably means they'll fuck it up

anyway, good luck to them, put our lazy overpaid lot to shame, its nice to know that dreams can still come true

You're probably right - if they win with all the money they will get and facing CL football ( then probably EL before too long ) the perfect balance they are in will be gone - this is it - this is their chance which will never be bettered for them.

Always always always I want us to win the league - this has been a disappointing league season make no mistake but in the end if not us then yep the fairytale for me will be the next best thing. It reassures me that its not just about money, players, managers, crowd sizes , empty seats or 'istree - turns out to win things you have to win on the pitch - who'da thowt it eh !!

A scum fan said to me after we won it first time the " the best team wins the league".
I don't think anyone can argue if Leicester do win it.
Good luck to them.
Much better than the yids doing it.

A few of us on here have been saying just this for a while now.

£30 Million pound players, once the sole domain of a handful of clubs are suddenly going to be within reach of virtually every single PL club.

The league is only going to get more and more difficult and i welcome it as its exactly how it should be imo.

Its fantastic for football....what Leicester have achieved is phenomenal, maybe the stars have aligned.....however,it surely gives hope to supporters of clubs who had lost belief that they would ever experience any meaningful success ever again. And while the playing field is still far from level, the trophies and accolades are no longer under the sole ownership of the usual suspects or the chosen few.....hopefully the days of the sky 4 are becoming a thing of the past, the self entitlement is being eradicated and the decisions aren't going the same,one,way.....the evidence of this season maybe suggests so.

Its rather ironic that for years we bemoaned the same old sides winning everything whilst the rest fed on scraps and called it boring yet now we suddenly demand to be winning everything and want it boring.

Sport is all about the competition and its to be welcomed.
