Those quotes are from the Wolves manager not Howard Webb.
True Ive misread it when I posted it.
Thanks for pointing that out, I couldn’t believe he’d say that, now I know he didn’t.

Not exactly, usually there is a break in play whilst a VAR decision is made, however that break in play will be extended. And yes Wolves would have preferred the right decision!Doesn't VAR do that anyway? I'm sure wolves wouldn't have minded a bit of disruption last Monday to get the right decision rather than an apology.
Considering the fact that the official ADMITTED his mistake against Wolves I would think that a manager contesting it and a subsequent ref video review would have resulted in that decision being overturned among many other future ones.Whats the point. Lets take the other night with the stonewall penalty, the bent Ref's would just say no pen as its against the Rags.... Play on.
The Refs (VAR) involved looked at the incident and after reviewing decided no foul. No review system in the world can fix corruption. It isn't VAR that's the issue (It showed even a village idiot it was a clear penalty), but the corrupt officials who run it.
Why? The manager requests a review. The bent official looks at it (like he did the other night). And decides no pen! Same outcome!Considering the fact that the official ADMITTED his mistake against Wolves I would think that a manager contesting it and a subsequent ref video review would have resulted in that decision being overturned among many other future ones.
Are Webb, Atkinson and Moss going to Spurs hospitality tonight?
I think we just need to agree to disagree here, I get the thought about bent officiating but I think that a ref made to look at a situation using video review after a manager request is more likely to result in the correct decision. Why? The manager requests a review. The bent official looks at it (like he did the other night). And decides no pen! Same outcome!
To expect a different outcome from the same team of Officials is fanciful…
As a previous poster said, you only get that decision wrong if you wanted too!!
......therefore it is VAR that's a fault, cos it'll alsways be the incompetents who run it.
No VAR, no dodgy decisions (or non-decisions)
The handball ? No way was it a penalty. I'm not saying that as a Blue either, all this silly unnatural arms behind your back is making a mockery of football. The defender looked to block the shot, it was the natural position for his arm to be in.Back on topic for a minute, have there been any apologies this weekend so far? Haven't seen any but that penalty appeal for the scum looks pretty nailed on (but I've only seem pictures so await being corrected)
OK, as I say haven't seen it and stills can be misleading, the one I saw appeared to show the defenders arm up and away from his body, seen many of those given, so looked a good shoutThe handball ? until the audio between var and the ref is made public there will always be suspicion that everything isnt on the up and upThey know that the no penalty v wolves was a bit obvious ,i had an inkling if there was a decision yesterday it wouldn't go united's way, hey presto they didn't give united what looked like a definite penalty , now whatever you say ,for or against united that shows they are talking about decisions before matches imo or are being influenced , and that is a big worry.
Var actually works, (i don't like it mind you) what does not work is the mystery surrounding the decisions , we need to hear why a decision is or isn't given , ok they apologised, but nowadays every fucker is apologising about something or other ,as if that make things better , but i don't need an apology ,i need a reason , im sure the wolves manager would prefer an explanation rather than a weak half hearted apology
until they start giving explanations , then as far as im concerned things are being manipulated
it works in rugby, very clearly, the ref asks for such and such to be looked at, i think they show it on the screen whist they review it, an explanation is given, end of, one of the reasons we see disrespect to refs more in football than rugby is the players in football know somethings aren't what they should be, players and managers know the game and they know when they are being had over, why wouldn't the wolves manager kick off about that decision ,its his livelihood and reputation on the line, but to rub it in he gets a card and most probably a fine, imagine reacting at work to an unfair and imo very dodgy decision ,getting disciplined and having your wages docked.until the audio between var and the ref is made public there will always be suspicion that everything isnt on the up and up
I didn't think it was a penalty either although to complicate things, it would have been a certain penalty in a European game.OK, as I say haven't seen it and stills can be misleading, the one I saw appeared to show the defenders arm up and away from his body, seen many of those given, so looked a good shout
