Some race that.

That old fella on the side didn’t have a good day with those slow reactions to kybosh Lampaert; pull your hands in quicker mate ffs.

You see that, he just gets up and to get on his bike. Than I watch multi millionaire footballers rolling around when touched by a feather

I only caught the last 25k as was working but saw the incident where Lampaert was caught by the spectator and sent flying. He got up like he had bounced yet it was on the cobblestones. The race conditions were in stark contrast to last years challenge, admittedly it was postponed to much later in the year, nevertheless it’s still a brutal race. As the post said earlier, Chapeau to them all.

The three lads started fucking about way too early pro cyclists are fucking mad at times.

Said the exact same thing. They had that stage sewn up between them and should have gone early but no, fuck about, let several more riders in and then in the final bend Carapaz literally gives the winner about 20 yards on him before starting the sprint.

Crazy tactics from pro riders.

I can barely do 40mph pedaling furiously in a tailwind downhill on my flat bar hybrid. I am running a top gear of 44/12 on 26" wheels though. ;-)

Feels rapid on wide tyres with my pannier bag flapping away.
Ha ha, never thought about that before. Living just inside the Peak District my Strava stats never show my max speed anywhere near 46 mph even on the big descents round here.

I've managed 43mph on my commute home, but that was last summer when I had no mudguards or pannier fitted and I was running low resistance tyres at high pressure. Nearly shook my filling out. I really had to spin hard at the top of the hill and then tuck in as I ran out of gears.

I'm really having to work hard now to get anywhere near that. If I'm honest I'm not sure if a bigger front/smaller rear cog will make much difference. It would just mean I'm not spinning as fast when I top out.
