Runners up and FA Cup finalists and it was judged to be a failure !! Looks like we might be looking for a new manager if our owner is consistent

Inevitable if we finish below second I would have thought. I think the two from Barcelona painted themselves into a bit of a corner
with their sneering comments on the OS when Mancini was sacked ... "failed to meet any of his targets other than qualification for
the CL". The bar was set too high and it was always going to be a problem for the next manager. We all knew that this wasn't the
real reason for Mancini's dismissal but a third or fourth place finish means Pellegrini's position would be seen as untenable to a large
proportion of our support who worshipped Mancini. Txiki also must be considered to be running out of lives with Khaldoon if this
happens.
Spot on.

It is a disgrace when you consider we managed to claw back the gap on Chelsea and now we're in 4th place behind the rags who have played such shite football all year. I know our remaining games look easyish on paper but that's only if our players bother to turn up and we all know teams love treating us as their cup final.

Really would not be shocked if we ended up 4th and having the play in the bloody qualifier.

2nd on Monday
Not if we have a repeat of Burnley

But if we have a repeat of Southampton ;-)

why does everyone seem pissed off today?...its not our fault we don't play til Monday,,,did you not expect the other 3 to win today or something?

I guess for a number of reasons. Some pissed off due to price hikes, some due to away game ticket allocations but probably most of all due to the fact that we're sitting in 4th with a tough away game coming up followed by an away derby which is always a bit of a nervy time.
this "sitting 4th" has come as a bit of a shock then to some?i had a feeling we were gonna be in this position well over a week ago what with not playing til Monday

We,re in exactly the same position we were in yesterday did anyone really expect results to go any differently today ? Rags, Arsenal and Chelsea have to play each other I expect we can drop 5 points and still finish second.

Re: The race for the Top 4

We will win on Monday and go back to second.
We will beat the rags and stay second.

Everyone chill.

Hissy fits because they have won and obviously it means we are dog shit and heads must roll.

Its a joke on here lately.

Mate, more a reflection that over the course of the last 3 months, we've surrendered a 14 point differential to Arsenal, 10 to Liverpool, 8 to the rags, needed a last minute goal to overcome Sheffield Wednesday only to then crash and burn to Boro, and generally played sub standard, half arsed, complacent football at a snail's pace. Monday night is a huge game. Win and I'd say neither the dippers or Spurs will overhaul us (even given that Spurs' run-in is a piece of piss). Lose and I genuinely believe we will finish behind both the rags and Liverpool, and we'd be tempting fate with Tottenham. I don't mind what formation Pellers goes with at Selhurst, but I don't want any strollers out there

Or WBA, Stoke, Newcastle away all would be good. I'm hoping the poor performances are now behind us and it's onwards and upwards.......fingers crossed hopefully!!

Re: The race for the Top 4

I wouldn't want finish 4th .
But i still have faith we will be runners up .
Even Mancini 1st full season was better than this season .

Re: The race for the Top 4

If we finish 4th you can bet on UEFA assigning a bent/inept ref for the qualification play off.

Re: The race for the Top 4

We need like 15-20 from maximum 24 to avoid 4th imo.

We certainly dont need 8 wins for that. Unless Arse/Mu winning all their remaining games, the one vs each other and also the ones vs Chelsea...

I think even a 6-0-2 or 5-2-1 record would make sure we are top 3 maybe even second.

If we cant do top3 based on remaining fixtures for each team, that will be down to the manager/players not really being motivated and lack of desire +bad tactics than anything else.
