maybe, in this way, the new ESL is more honest? the previous model did harp on about level playing fields etc far too much. This way they can weed out the fans they dont want (me) and simply continue with the ones that are happy to accept the nature of the business for what it is.
i get your point, but i'll tell the truth and say I can't reconcile the word honesty and this movement and probably won't be able to for a while.

It's despicable

Yep. If these founder members wield so much power in the game, they could have used it for good, by coming together and putting an end to the exorbitant player wages. Instead of agreeing to a new ESL to "protect" football, they could have agreed that all new player contracts couldn't be more than X amount and actually protected football.
Like Rugby did. Instead, the franchise model, no promotion or relegation protectionism encourages mad spending, look what top players are paid in the NFL or NBA.

Apparently if players get banned from playing for their countries Perez has said he’ll make a new world cup

State. Of. This

wankers every single club who’s signed up to this

Imagine it
right let’s make our own World Cup what countries are we going to invite

Err we can’t really the countries won’t allow it

Yeah but we can use the players from our super league

Err we only have 14 English players but most are midfielders and no left or right back

We only have 3 French players

2 argentinians

7.....

I’ve not thought this through have I, could we manage a England Spain World Cup series to be played in Miami New York Dubai Shanghai and Melbourne?

How is that any different from now with the CL?
Well for a start Arsenal arent in the CL this season or next as they finished way outside the top 4 and have done for the last 5 years. United failed to get top 4 2 or 3 times in recent years, what gives them all a god given right to be in it year in year out regardless of how they perform?

I was hoping deep down that this was just a bluff and a power play, but my god they seem to be doing it, clubs pulling out of European Club Association. Where's the integrity gone?

Sadly this is the truth.
It is the truth.

There is though a tension between unfettered capital and regulation and the political class are already opposed.

I don't know how this will play out. Real Madrid and Man Utd drive this economically but we don't actually live in a casino where there is no management. It is has to get past the state. And the state wont back private football clubs, not in my opinion.
