The Title is there for the taking...

I am very suprised today that Jose has let Moses and Lukaku leave, both of these kids have done more than enough to deserve their chance. Chelsea aren't as strong as they were yesterday.

We also got a real big break in that Arsenal and United signed the players the wrong way round !

Fellaini would have been awesome at Arsenal, adding some backbone and Ozil in the same team as Rooney and Van Persie doesn't bare thinking about !

I am very worried though that Mr P is set on changing our defensive structure set out by Mr M.

We have a great chance and if all our big guns turn up most weeks I would make us heavy favourites but to say it is their "for the taking" really is premature.

You say 'heavy favourites' I say 'there for the taking'. Semantics dear boy.

Seriously though it is there for the taking but that doesn't mean there isn't a lot of hard work needed to take it. Its more a recognition that we have the squad to do the job and are in a healthier position than some of our immediate rivals.

this will be the closest premier league for a long time , liverpool and spuds will take points off teams , 80 pts will win it this season.

Closest premier league for a long time? closer than needing 2 goals in injury time? I doubt that! Mr P trying to get our fantastic forwards to score goals, but the defenders that mr M left R struggling, it will be ok in the end!

Chelsea have confused me the most to be honest. Really thought they would add a world class striker and at least De Rossi or Khedira to their midfield. I think Mourinho will try and bore his way to another title with what he's been given; doubtful they'll be as gungho as Abramovic's purchases of every available ACM on the market would have you believe. Could end badly, who knows. Rooney bid never materialised, very surprising.

The Rags have been laughably amateur. They were never going to get him, but Fabregas would have been a huge upgrade. Thiago would have been better than Zinedine Cleverly. Modric better. Khedira better. The list goes on. Snubbed by all of them, and I'm sure Fellaini feels hugely valued that they went after seemingly every central midfielder in Europe before him.

Arsenal don't have enough depth. Ozil makes nice headlines but it was a position they didn't need to fill with a 40m pound player. Could have addressed more pressing problems if Arsene wasn't such a stubborn idiot.

Spurs are building a formidable side, but like us after our first big spree, it takes time to peice that together. They may find some of their signings simply don't work, it's never guaranteed.

Liverpool are very young, but have been the most impressive this season to my eyes so far. Still lacking goals it seems but they're playing tidy football, good work ethic across the park; doubt they can sustain it for a whole season but with no Europe you never know. Regardless, top four at absolute best for them.

Then you've got us. Now the window has shut I'd say we still have the most balanced squad. We may not have the abundance of wingers of the rags, or Acm's of Chelsea, but we have the best spine (providing Kompany can stay fit) and generally a good squad. Our main problem is ourselves. We've looked far from convincing, but if we click into gear we could see some very, very good football.

Loads of different permutations to consider for the league; staying in Europe longer than anyone else, cup competitions etc, but I'm chucking my hat firmly into the 'ours to lose' corner. No arrogance, just think after no-one has shown themselves to be clear front runners, we have the most in reserve.

From what I saw from Chelsea against United and Bayern, Mourinho looks like he will take them to the title in a very typical Jose style![/quote]
Chelsea will win the league - their defence was immense against Bayern and Hazard was MOTM. Torres is banging them in for fun

You can quote me on this: Rags will be lucky to qualify for Champions League this year. Without Fergie they will take a step back this season. Moyes doesn't have the experience needed to manage at this level. Sure, he did ok with Everton, but the expectations are not the same, are they?

On the other hand, we have a manager who has managed Real Madrid. As big as the expectations are at Man City, they do not match that of Real Madrid.

I think Chelsea underachieved in the transfer market. Arsenal did well with Ozil who is going to help them win a few more games. I honestly think Liverpool may be our toughest opponent this year. They seem to have some great team chemistry at the moment.

EVERYBODY has got stronger in the top 6, apart from the rags whom of which moyes and woodward are doing a double act in trying to humiliate them.

it's there for us to snatch it imo and we must now hit the ground running after the international breaks, we have two tough fixtures but if we beat stoke and the rags then fuck me we'll be confident.

COME ON CITY

I gotta say these past few days have made me lower my expectations a bit, with Arsenal, United, Chelsea, Tottenham strengthening, us selling Barry and not getting a good DM in to replace him and the poor performances against Cardiff and Hull. Hopefully Pellegrini can get things together in two weeks time.

nonsense. the title is not there for the taking.

other than us, chelsea and arsenal ... liverpool also have a decent chance to take the title this season.

man united wont make it in the top 4.

I agree - two weeks of training. Get Demichelis to play the high line MP's way.
Does anyone know if he speaks any English?

No , it is not there for the taking.

It has to be won, in what is arguably the toughest league in the world.

United won the league last year at a canter by a huge margin, we won the league the year before on goal difference with the last kick of the season, and before that we were nowhere near the title.

This season, in my opinion, is going to be toughest and most exciting we have seen for years, but it is not a given that anyone is going to walk to the title.

I don't buy the 'United are finished' stuff, but neither do I think we have by far and away the best squad in the league.

I think this will be one of the most open title chases for years.
