I love Zinny but I genuinely think he’s the embodiment of why Arsenal won’t win the league and we will. They’re too emotional for it all. He made a mistake? Fine.

Elite mentality players get on with it and make amends, not get subbed because your manager knows your head will have gone. And he’s been shoved in our faces via the media all season that he’s the spirit of this Arsenal squad.

Compare to ours. They’re like robots who get the job done. We don’t blow a 2-goal lead at Anfield (we probably don’t get one in the first place admittedly) in the run-in.

To me only Grealish, Ake and Rodri have been consistently bothered about the league. The likes of De Bruyne had their fill and focused on CL, possibly the manager too. I was concerned about how thin the squad was at the start of the season and since then Pep has binned off Canelo and frozen out LaPorte/Walker. At some point we'll be relying on Lewis, Gomez, Palmer in a must win league match, unfair to expect those boys to carry us home.

I feel it would be a bit of a travesty for us to steal it at this point from a young and hungry Arsenal side. More interested in FA cup, we've underperformed badly there for years and can't allow United win it. Would be a fine upshot from a season we've mostly been spinning our wheels.

I'd rather be in their position but they're not as strong as the City / Liverpool sides over the past 4 seasons so let's see if we can reel them in.

The Leicester game is huge. We probably have to rotate 2 or 3 players with Bayern being either side, plus the players need to somehow show that their focus is only on that game and not Bayern.

Arsenal play home to Southampton in the league on the weekend that we have the FA Cup semi final, so even if we beat Leicester, they have the opportunity to be 9 points clear when they come to the Etihad (having played 2 games more). We just have to win, no excuses.

We’ll beat the Tarquins at the Etihad and they may even lose at Newcastle. However those others are the sort of games (for both of us) that will decide where the title goes.

I think one of our biggest advantages right now is the pressure isn't on us. Don't win it this season? I'm convinced we will it next season. Don't win it this season, I'm convinced we will win at least one of the cups. If Arsenal don't win it this season, can they hand on heart say they'll be there next season?

If we were in their position, I think we'd be confident of going to the Emirates and getting a result, and probably winning at Newcastle as well.

The difference between the two clubs is the mentality in the squad. I'd rather be us in either scenario as we are the team that are set up mentally to go and win the remaining games, and to cope with the pressure. I think we are already seeing that Arsenal are showing signs of struggling to cope with that side of things, and let's be honest the race has only just got going!

He was crying on the bench before the full time whistle had even gone. They seem to have a few other overly emotional players like that. Wouldn’t surprise me if they dropped points again and absolutely shat the bed afterwards Liverpool vs Palace style

What we haven’t seen yet from City this season is capitalising on Arsenal’s mistakes. We beat them at the Emirates and then threw points away against Forest. Need to put pressure on them in the coming weeks, they will be wanting City to get preoccupied with the champions league. The games around Bayern Munich are manageable but could be a different proposition if we get to the semis. We have Haaland bang in form but what a player Alvarez is when Pep needs to rotate.

I agree, but what puts real pressure on Arsenal is they know we can be ruthless at this stage of the season and the margin for errors is small: they have to keep winning games. Also, their 2nd half performance yesterday wasn't a confidence booster. They know the game at the Etihad is likely to be more difficult for them than that at Anfield (given the form of City and Liverpool).

That said, psychology is a subtle thing. Small details can change the mood, both before and during games. Liverpool were dreadful in the 1st half, but Xhaka was daft enough to enrage the players and the crowd...

Totally agree with this even if we were 3 points ahead going into the last game! (must be those' hard yards ' following us that did in decades gone by).
Looking at the title of the thread, I know I'm 'splitting hairs' but technically it is still just as much , if not more so in Arsenal's hands as it is ours. We do still ofcourse have to beat them and win the game in hand to go top.
Though I obviously prefer them to certain other red shirts clubs I've never particularly liked the club. Even though I've met some very decent ones over the years a lot of the Tarquins just seem very bitter and entitled. Even when they've had really good teams in the past they' ve also always seemed far more concerned about how shit Tottenham are than how good their own club is.
If Arsenal do win the league, fair play to them they will have deserved it. There is little doubt that they have been the most consistent team overall, and they have played some good stuff.
Even though I'm not at the stage where I expect us to win the league every year (and hope I never will be) I do believe we are still currently the best team in the Premier league. As we proved at The Emirates earlier this season, on our day when we really 'go for it'' we really are also still a few notches above them.
