Just how much do you think AVB spent this summer, given that Spurs finished-up with a profit from player trading of over £6m?

What did you get banned for last week. Trolling. Yet again after 24hrs you are back at it

It's a very simple question.

You can shout "trolling" until you're blue in the face, but it doesn't change the fact that Spurs made a profit of over £6m this summer from player trading.

The upshot being that there is plenty of cash available for new players, if required, in the January 2014 transfer window.

It also doesn't change the fact that no-one, aside from yourself, remotely mentioned profit/loss on player trading. The simple fact was mentioned that AVB had spent a lot of money on players this summer. The fact that he also recouped a great deal of money through player sales (mainly Bale) is a different matter entirely. Spurs still purchased players that, combined, cost in the region of £100m. There's no point getting into this debate yet again however as, repeatedly, you've failed to grasp the difference between spending money and making a profit/loss.

Spend - A noun - an amount of money paid out.

Spend - A verb - give (money) to pay for goods, services, or so as to benefit someone or something.

None of those definition, in any way, talks about balancing books, or selling in order to accrue money to spend. Spending is a simply thing to define, unless you're trying to be obtuse.

If AVB needs more players in the transfer window, then the only word that applies is "Failure".

But thanks for coming on here. You are a constant reminder of why I dislike your club so much.

Seven players came-in to Spurs during the Summer but 25 players went out, so we're still a few players short.

And you are a few sandwiches short of a picnic.

Tottenham Hotspur host Hull City at White Hart Lane on Wednesday 30th October 2013 (KO 19:45) in the 4th round of 2013-14 Football League (Capital One) Cup.

Spurs come into the match after beating Aston Villa 4-0 away in the Third Round while Hull City have beaten Leyton Orient 1-0 away in the Second Round and Huddersfield Town 1-0 at home in the Third Round. Spurs have won the competition four times but Hull have never made it past the Fourth Round yet.

Wednesday's match at will be the 32nd time the two teams have met and just three days after Spurs won 1-0 in the Premier League.

Hull City AFC were founded in June 1904, playing their home games at The Boulevard (the home of Hull Rugby club) and were admitted into the Second Division of the Football League for the 1905-06 season and finished in 5th place.

Tottenham Hotspur first played Hull City on 12th January 1907 in the FA Cup 1st Round (today's 3rd Round) when Spurs were in the Southern League and Hull were in the Second Division of the Football League. The match at White Hart Lane ended in a 0-0 draw, as did the replay at Anlaby Road but the match was abandoned after just 10 minutes of extra time. The result stood and a second replay was held at White Hart Lane with Herbert Chapman (later to become a successful manager at Arsenal) scoring the winning goal for Tottenham.

Spurs were admitted into the Football League for season 1908-09 and met Hull City in the Second Division. The Tigers took three out of four points off Spurs but it was Tottenham who won promotion to the First Division.

The two clubs next met in a friendly played in Brussels, Belgium in May 1912 with Hull City winning 2-0.

Spurs lost their Top Flight status when football resumed after WW1 and The games played against Hull on Christmas Day and Boxing Day in 1919 were both won by Tottenham 4-0 at home and 3-1 away. Those six points taken off Hull helped Spurs win promotion again.

The next 10 League meetings all took place in the Second Division over the course of 50 years between 1928 and 1978. Hull City moved to Boothferry Park in 1946 and remained there until 2002. Leeds United played a home Division One game there against Spurs on 25th August 1971 as they were serving a ground closure penalty. Alan Gilzean scored Spurs goal in a 1-1 draw.

The clubs met in the 1953-54 FA Cup with Spurs winning a replayed 5th Round tie 2-0 at the Lane after the first match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Hull were also beaten by Spurs in the 1980-81 FA Cup 4th Round 2-0 at White Hart Lane with Steve Archibald and Garry Brooke getting the goals. Tottenham would go on to win the Centenary Final that season against Manchester City.

The Tigers won promotion to the Top Flight of English Football for the first time in their history for the 2008-09 Premier League season and beat Spurs 1-0 at White Hart Lane in October 2008. The return match at the KC Stadium in February 2009 was won 2-1 by Spurs with goals from Aaron Lennon and Jonathan Woodgate.

A second foreign match was played between Spurs and Hull in Beijing, China in the Final of the Barclays Premier League Asia Trophy in July 2009. Spurs won 3-0 with Robbie Keane scoring a brace and Aaron Lennon getting a goal.

Jermain Defoe scored a hat-trick and Wilson Palacios & Robbie Keane scored in the 5-1 Premier League Spurs win at the KC Stadium in August 2009. The match at the Lane in January 2010 ended in a goalless draw. Hull were relegated at the end of the season.

Midfielder Tom Huddlestone joined Hull City from Spurs during the Summer 2013 transfer window for £5.25 million and fellow midfielder Jake Livermore went on loan for the season. A Roberto Soldado penalty late into the game was enough for Spurs to take all three points at the Lane in the Premier League match played in October 2013.

Wednesday's game at White Hart Lane will be the 32nd match played between the two clubs and Spurs have the edge with 13 wins to Hull's 9 with 9 matches having been drawn.

A shame that didn't come off.

AVB is apparently being given a £40 million investment in January from the board to improve the squad and try and make the CL, AVB hasn't spent much so It would be nice if he got some backing off the board rather than be forced to sell our best players.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2013/10/28/4365620/villas-boas-to-resist-january-purchases-despite-40m?ICID=CP_105" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/pre ... CID=CP_105</a>

For £40 million, I would spend £25 million on Benteke and Defoe on loan for the season so Villa can stay up with a PL proven goal scorer.
Also £5 million for Javi Garcia who I like and AVB is friends with him.

AVB hasn't spent much? Then who the fuck are all these new players running around every week that you keep telling us need time to gel

Just how much do you think AVB spent this summer, given that Spurs finished-up with a profit from player trading of over £6m?

three quarters of a billion and 2 league cups hahaha

They're scoring as much as Stoke under Pullis but stay high due to good defensive job.

I've expected more of them at least football wise, they're good point wise.

Nearly every team we've played so far has put 10 men behind the ball. The games we have coming up will be against teams who will try to attack us, which means we'll probably score more goals and concede more goals as well. I think against teams like Everton and Southampton we'll play better football with more space to play into, though our defense might also be more exposed as a result.

Anyway we'll see, our players are still gelling and it's not easy with the tactics we use. I'm sure that we'll improve as the season continues.
