Could very well be a good appointment. He has a point to prove to the Chavs and to English football generally andwarped scale the sort of player power that exists at Stamford Bridge doesn't exist at WHL. Too many ancient old divas at Chavski, manipulating a semi-detached owner who has more dosh than sense. Too many football pensioners hanging on for dear life and scape-goating a succession of managers the minute things look as if they are going wrong.Spuds won't give him the same problem. Nobody would. I didn't necessarily like the bloke when he was here last but he was given a raw deal by Chavski. He was told by the Russians to sweep out the old guard but when push came to shove, the club didn't back him.
He defo deserves a proper chance this time round and his return would produce yet another soap opera rivalry between two premiership clubs. This is exactly why the English PL is the best in the world.
