An Everton fan came on here and said that he didn't want owners like city. It made me laugh cause if Everton had our owners he would be going mental and off to buy a season ticket and put a down payment on a second one allot of fans talk shit when it comes to saying they don't want a nice cash injection.

Yep. I definitely see a lot of that from Spurs fans. And I simply don't believe them.

Sure, we would all prefer our club to have earnt every penny that it spends and every little scrap of success that it gets. And I think there is some truth in the claim that success will seem even more precious to fans of such clubs.

But, in modern football, that's a very long and hard road to take, with little liklihood (and certainly no guarantee) of ever reaching the desired destination. The Premier League and, even more so the Champions League, put paid to any chance of there ever being a level playing field again. The clubs that just happened to be the strongest at the advent of the Premier League / Champions League era had a ridiculously huge advantage over the rest - in perpetuity, seemingly. Success, money, success, more money, success, even more money............a virtuous circle for the Sky 4.

I'm sure there are fans who genuinely do believe that they would hate their club to be taken over by a philanthropic billionaire. But I'm equally sure that those fans would change their tune if it did actually happen. Even more so now that any incoming billionaires will not be able to do what Chelsea's and City's respective owners have done. They will be limited to lavishing their wealth only on bigger and better stadiums / training grounds etc.

I agree there has never been a level playing field in football FFP has locked the door and city have made it through that door like a cheeky little scamp jumping into the presidential suit before the lift and stairs are caved in. Now unless you sell a shed loads of shirts and are a strong franchise you can't get anywhere now the sky marketable 4 is cemented no take over of Everton or Aston Villa will get them as far as quickly. Good job Harry has done such a great job your still a top class striker short for me though Adebayor is unreliable at times but your in there now and I hope your finish second! ;).

Is GG down for you Jim? Don't know what to do with myself haha. Perhaps actually get on with some work, but that would be madness.

Looks like Livermore might get an opportunity to impress tomorrow with Parker and Sandro pretty much out. Livermore as fourth choice defensive midfielder is not bad going, I like the lad.

I think tomorrow will be a frustrating game, not easy by any means.

Yep. GG down for me too.

Agree with you about the Everton game. Another game in which Spurs could struggle to break down the opposition defence.

is Ledley King out long-term (ie for the City game)?

His hamstring injury isn't as bad as first feared, apparently. Probably out for a few weeks.

So touch and go whether he's back for 23rd.

He has to be out! Because Kompany is as well :(

Harsh decision. Typical of the FA's reluctance to be seen as critical of referees rather than actually doing the right thing.

But potentially good news for Spurs.

Still......unless Spurs sign a striker within the next ten days or so, City's reshuffled defence won't have much to trouble them. Spurs have no one who can adequately replace Adebayor.

I know his family. A family not be messed with, trust me.

I thought it was us who had all the defensive midfielders!

Spurs have time to rest key players having got lower league opposition once more in the FA Cup. It should be a lot more competitive at our place than it was at WHL as we could well be missing Silva, Kompany and Yaya (i.e. our spine). Time for Nasri to perform like he did at WHL - something he has yet to do.

It'll be an interesting game for sure, but as Jimmy said, there's no one to replace Ade effectively so it'l be a case of watching our attacks break down every time it gets to our front line...

Two good fa cup draws have helped us, and although I wanted us to go through not being in Europa will help us also.

It will be nice to have got this whole game in hand mentality out the way soon.
