He also said Messi is triffic, hardly tapping them up. The media always ask him on every player and he'll say the same thing.

It's not like he's driving around picking them up in his Bentley like Fergie does

Pretty much this.

A reporter will ask him what he thinks of a player (let's say Demba Ba) and Harry will always give his opinion, usually with a few "top, top player" and "triffic" thrown-in for good measure.

Yep, nothing new. He has done it about every Arsenal, Chelsea and United player in the past, but as soon as it's a lower club it's 'tapping up'

I'm just worried Barca will report Spurs for Redknapp tapping up Messi over his comments regarding him winning the ballon d'or.

Triffic!

Hopefully this hypocritical tax cheat is behind bars in January, all the outrage over Modric being "tapped up" and he is the worst for it. He said they were interested in Tevez then days later said they couldn't afford his wages, SO WHY MENTION HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE?

Totally agreed that Harry ought to shut the fuck up about other team's players when asked about them. He's not even interested in most of them anyway. He just can't stop himself from blabbing about anything and everything, it seems. I suppose that it's the down side of him being one of the few people in football who doesn't just churn out the same tedious platitudes and clichés.

But the part of your post highlighted in bold.....you must have imagined it, fella. Harry said all sorts of things about the Modric saga last summer. But complaining about Chelsea (or Modric, for that matter) wasn't one of them.

Come on, he's a tap up merchant, pure and simple. Not the only one around, but by far the most prolific.

"He is a good player.

"We could have had him a couple of years ago, to be honest with you.

"He has pushed on. He was a player we looked at and I watched him a couple of times at that stage, but he went to Marseille.

"There is interest there. But that is as far (as it goes). At the moment, there is nothing more than that."

Hardly just a passing comment on a player.

Re: Harry Rednapp (wish there was a) Gag Order

Only interested in the ones he has playing for Spurs.

Who cares about the ones he talks about.

Talk is cheap and Harry is as cheap as they come.

Re: Harry Rednapp (wish there was a) Gag Order

@ Crouchinho & THFC. If mancini went around stating how Bale was a Bellissimo player and there is interest Spurs fans would have a fucking fit and accuse him of tapping up, murder, bestiality, peadophilia and being the "Real" man behind the holocaust!

Fuck me, that's twice in two days I've read a post of yours Jim that talk sense, is fair, level headed and accurate, turn it in bud, you're giving Spurs fans a good name ;-).

PS I think it may have been Levy who had a moan about Chelsea, may be wrong but don't think I am.

Name one other manager who is ready to put his window down on his way into the training ground on a daily basis for these "informal" comments.
