The true secret of Leicester City's success / doping thread merged

They are top of the league because quite simply they have been the best and most consistent side this season. They might not play the prettiest football but their guts and industry and sheer grit not to mention ability deserves a lot of credit.

Good luck to Leicester and hope they end up champions.

A movie should be made about this. Its simply unfathomable what they are going to achieve. They really did buck the trend and show us, United, Chelsea and Arsenal you dont need massive stadiums and big money to win. Well done to them.

Sorry but they play in front of 30,000 at home, have a Billionaire owner and have the tv money that being in the PL affords.

Hardly Accrington fucking Stanley lol.

It has got to be the most bizzare story of all time when you think about it.
With 7 games left last season - they were bottom of the Premier League, playing shit and a certain to go down. And then without a change in manager, all of a sudden they win on the bounce and finish 14th.
And if that wasn't strange enough - in a period of one year they've gone from bottom of the Premier League to Premier League winners - one change in manager, and in the middle been involved in doping scandals and a flurry of 5000-1 bets. That does not happen.

It's like a tennis player about to be dropped from the ATP Tour with a shit ranking, suddenly without a change of coach winning the next 4 Grand Slams and everything inbetween. Accept thats 1 player - this is 11 all together. If that happened certainly people would be investigating.

I'm not thinking along matchfixing lines, except a small bias from refs - but a doping (Lance Armstrong) line. Their dodgy Chairman called they'd win the league within 5 years when they were in the Championship...this doesn't happen.

They've gone from being the unfittest squad in the league to the 2nd fittest. Bizzare.

Cost of their first team is less than £25m!
Billionaire owner or not it doesn't matter, because they've spent fuck all!
Amazing story, even better then Forest

Er, the £100 million invested by the King Power group seems like 'big money' to me.

It is Bizzarre.
A lot more to come out yet i suspect.
And it will.

Who knows what goes on, but as someone pointed out its been in the game for years. But could a PED turn an Emile Heskey into a brilliant finisher? A Titus Bramble into BaresI? Lol. I think most clubs use supplements that go undetected, most sports are rife with it. A story as big as this has been quickly swept under the carpet. It's a bit like La Liga censoring protests about the money Real and Barca get.

Lot of bitterness in this thread. Fair play to Leicester, it's a remarkable story what they did this year.
