Don't tell me what to think dickhead. I've got an opinion about how football fans are treated these days and am entitled to voice it here.

Fair enough. You have just picked a poor example to get your point across. The cost of expanding the ground is around £50 million as others have said and the club need a contribution from the Blues.

Perhaps every season ticket holder should pay £100 of their 2015 ticket now, just to contribute.

The club are not expanding out of the goodness of their heart, they are doing it to make money. I'll make my contribution when I get something in return, and thats not a promise of a seat in two years time.

It's actually amazing to see how many people are actually buying in to the marketing.

I don't think anyone is expecting free games but does it not feel to you like the club are trying to squeeze every last pound out of the fan base at the moment?.....It does to me.....

£299.

If we're talking Arsenal tickets then there's a case to answer.

I know £299 is the figure to get people on the waiting list. Clever marketing.

As level 2 evacuees get first choice anyway, it's not inconceivable to think that some of those may opt for the cheapest option. I'm not that precious about where I sit and miss a few games so £299 appeals. Most seats will be £400 plus. Still good value but ill bet loads on the waiting list are expecting to be paying £299.

The only invite sent to our household was to our 8 year old daughter, not too sure what's that all about.

Our group want another 2 in the next couple of years but will take our chances, simply don't have the extra cash in the middle of the season, for tickets in 2 years time.

Booked one last night for our lad, he will be 22/23 by the time they come around and would be expecting to pay around 400+ I would imagine. Like people are saying on here there are only going to be a certain amount at £299, I am sure with the extra seats the club will throughout the season do some great deals for low graded games but at the end of the day if we what to continue to improve and build we need to invest and I realise not everyone can afford to pay even more money out. My lads in the Army and might not even be in the country but he wanted to get on the list and take his chance. Hopefully the club and owners can see we the fans want what they want and help in any way we can. The last 3 years have been amazing the next 3 could even be better.

You are very right about the clever marketing. My mum is number 20 on the list but in the £499+ bracket as she wants to go in SL2 with me and my lad.
The £299 is definitely a headline figure, bit like the banks to in the financials with the interest rates but when you go into the small print it sometimes isn't as good as it seems.
Still not gonna knock the club, expansion is deffo needed.

They are moving further and further away from the fans at an alarming rate.

Or maybe the club are just trying to guarantee that they will sell most of the extra season tickets before expanding the ground.

So asking for £100 per person to go on a waiting list for almost 2 years in the build up to Christmas is the only way they could go about it?
It is if you want to assess demand for a 2nd stand.

If both stands are built there will be thousands of tickets available in the £299 to £449 bracket. That's making football more affordable, not less

The £299 seats are at the very top, so that'll be full with the bottom far from full

You've seen the Messi thread won't be many empty seats if that happens

That will depend on how we're doing in the League.

I suspect it will be like when City opened the COMs and when Sunderland opened the SOL. Full houses for first seasons as new fans wowed by the ground, and then it wears off. Then City will need success on the pitch to keep the fans

We can now be all but certain that there will be over 50k in the ground for every home game from 2015. This is huge progress compared with where we were as a Club - even 5 years ago.

At least I have learnt one new swear word on this thread - "marketing"!!

I suspect the value gold tickets will be no more as a result of the expansion. Anyone know how many of then are available each year?

Never seen that figure released. Sold out on Day 1 in the past so unlikely to be significant. I'm of the opposite opinion to the majority on here.

City's ticketing has been and is expensive with the Value card used as a gimmick (given hitherto small numbers) to give us good press, but the expansion gives us the possibility of a meaningful number of Value Tickets in the range of £299 to £449.

£449 isnt a value ticket as far as I'm.concerned.

£23 a game to see David Silva and Sergio Aguero play. I have to disagree with you.

£15.75 to £23 / game is great value for me. Not sure how low you expect it to be before you think it's good value.
