The "which famous person died today" thread

Rob Reiner and his wife found dead in their LA home in an apparent homicide. Being widely reported. He was 78. Directed some wonderful films. Absolutely tragic. RIP.

When I first heard it, i immediately thought of Rob Rinder, ITV’s answer to Judge Judy.

Only when the newsreader mentioned Los Angeles, did I realise he was talking about someone I’d never heard of.

Go watch This Is Spinal Tap, Stand By Me, Misery, When Harry Met Sally, A Few Good Men, and The Princess Bride. You'll have a blast and you'll have definitely heard of him after a run like that.

Plus, it's worth mentioning - the phrases "These go to 11", "You wanna see a dead body?", "I'll have what she's having", "You can't handle the truth" and the concept of a "bucket list" all come from his films.
