When I was young my dad used to acquire bottles of poitin.
I tasted it a few times, it was horrible.
The only use I ever found for it was as an alternative to "wintergreen"
It would certainly warm up your muscles.

You have to be careful with that stuff. You light it and check for impurities in the flame.
Only time Ive ever seen my English Brother in law pass out from drinking was when I brought a bottle over.
Nearly had it taken off me at customs too. You were only allowed one bottle of spirits at the time and I had it in a Vodka bottle.
Can’t remember what the duty free I bought was, but I remember wondering which one will I hand over if he takes it from me.

In the end I argued that I had only bought one duty free and had bought this in Ireland and brought it over. Pleading innocence as a young lad.
He let me off. I could imagine him taking what he thought was vodka home though and suffering the consequences for taking it from me. ;-)
 
I remember her from wayback, late 60s and 70s.
She was a very funny talented lady frequently on TV with members of Monty Python, she could easily have been one of the Monty Python team.

Denise Coffey was on Michael Palin and Terry Jones's pre-Python show circa 1967 (shown on kids' TV but probably watched more by young adults) had a regular slot with David Jason in one of his earliest TV parts. He was Captain Fantastic, a geeky moustachioed mac and trilby wearing unlikely saviour of the world, and she was his adversary Mrs Black 'the most evil woman in the world'.
