from a very very very top source, City want Walcott and the deal is very likely to happen

I expected better from you Marv, quoting a twatter who's a student....

Unbelievable.
I'm just putting it out there on a Transfer Forum. Leave it to others to judge how true it is.

If you were looking for a right sided winger to replace AJ, and you knew Walcott was in the last 12 months of your contract, I'm sure you'd consider it. I know that's entirely different to bidding

Motivation for posting this are the silly comments above that City have put themselves in a stupid position by selling AJ before buying Sinclair

Ooooo is that why Dezko has been linked

City had to sell before we buy, anyone who can't get their head round that isn't worth chatting to.

Doesn't excuse, imo, posting some random nonsense from a student, sorry mate but that's just not good karma.
Noted :-)

Re: Scott Sinclair (continued)

And so it begins...

Manchester City are considering an incredible transfer deadline bid to nick Theo Walcott from Arsenal after a deal for Scott Sinclair stalled.

City could face competition from Liverpool, who are hoping to raise the cash to make a late bid of their own for Walcott.

Arsenal are desperate to keep the England midfielder and have not given up hope he will sign an extension to a contract that expires at the end of this season.

But a big bid from either City or Liverpool will force them into a tough decision.

Champions City had been expected to buy Sinclair from Swansea this week, but the two clubs have so far failed to agree terms.

The Sinclair transfer could still happen, but City are exploring the possibility of switching targets and trying to convince Walcott to follow ex-Gunners such as Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy to Eastlands.

Although talks over a new contract for Walcott took place last week, he has not extended his Arsenal deal.

Walcott was left out of Arsenal's starting line-up against Stoke on Sunday and that has encouraged both City and Liverpool that a deal may be possible.

It is understood Walcott has not made a decision on his future, but is happy at Arsenal.

City could test Arsenal's nerve with a £15million bid, knowing the Londoners must weigh up whether to sell now or potentially lose Walcott on a free transfer in less than 12 months.

Liverpool are trying to raise the funds to bid for targets such as Walcott by offloading players.

Losing Walcott on the back of selling Robin van Persie, who was also entering the final year of his deal, and Alex Song this summer would be a massive blow to Arsenal - especially at such a late stage of the summer transfer window.

I guess with all the flapping due to our lack of transfers this one will crop up. If we can get him at the right price and sort out his wages this could work.

Would prefer Oxlade Chamberlain - if he carries on improving he is going to be unreal. I can see him being poached by Barcelona or Madrid soon.

He should expect as much time on the bench as AJ if he comes. (Same for sinclair.)

Doubt he wanna be on the bench that much.

I'm not sure it's a goer, him moving here wouldn't fix his problem at Arsenal - game time - he needs a move where regular football is guaranteed.

If that isn't an issue and he is happy to be a squad player, then yes i'd be content with his signing,he probably has a tad more to his game than Sinclair although its negligible and he would definitely cost substantially more.

I preferred AJ, but I'd like to see Walcott at City. Think of his pace on the break. He's gone stale at Arsenal

Well he is fast!

To be fair copy and paste isnt that difficult. I wonder if I put up a rumor and get it trending how long it would take to go online?!

Johnson wasn't warming the bench for nothing...

He was there because he was given opportunities and didn't take them fully.

Any player who comes to City gets opportunity... if they shine, they get picked regularly, if not, they get dropped.

If Rodwell shines, brilliant.
If Walcott / Sinclair shines, brilliant.

If not - they leave to try and shine at a lesser time.

Welcome to football.

Marwood can fuck off. He can fuck right off.

Swansea weren't asking more for Sinclair than Walcott is going to cost. Walcott is shite. Shite. SHITE.
I get the feeling you think he's shite

Silly in two respects
1) Walcott is not shite. he may not be an all round player, but come on shite?
2) Assuming the rumour is true, how do you pin it in Marwood?

I liked the signing of Sinclair because he had an end product. Walcott has none. Of course he scores the odd goal and gets assists but other than that 9/10 he wont deliver anything.
