I think if we're all being truthful his appointment doesn't sit well with any of us natives. But we can do nothing about it: these decisions are made without the fans having a say, so we just have to hope that he will deliver a trophy on our behalf and accept the stick that will inevitably come our way.

I’m a native and truly unarsed that he isn’t a native.

I’ll judge him on results and style of play, not how he belts out the national anthem nor if he wears a poppy.

Our national league is full from top to bottom with clubs owned, managed and played by overseas personnel. Why on earth people should be shocked at an overseas manager of the national team seems like getting upset for getting upsets sake.

Upset? No, discussion yes. Anyhow i think the word national is the relevant point. I see the manager and coaches as part of the team. Owners and managers of club sides have no relevance whatsoever.

It’s a view I respect but don’t go along with, mate.
I’ve read and watched a few interviews since the announcement and I stand by my post. Those things might not apply to you but you seem a fairly rational type.
Others, not so much.

If England become exciting to watch then I don't give toss who the Manager is. Unless they are ex rag of course:)

Well nearly truthful then if you discount the handful on here who don't think a national team manager is a job for somebody from the said nation. When you look at the managers of the current major national teams it's difficult to find foreign occupants - Portugal & Belgium come to mind but the French, Spanish, Germans, Italians, Dutch, Danes, Swedes, Finns, Norwegians, Serbians, Poles, Czechs, Slovakians, Croatians, Greeks, Turks, Scots, Welsh, Irish, Northern Irish, Brazilians, Argentinians etc etc all currently have home-grown ones and virtually all have had from the start.

The fans want the team to win something more than they care about where the manager is from. If Tuchel helps us win the World Cup we'd adopt the German National Anthem as our own, we're that fickle.
