And at the same time them just outside Manchester are pushing ticket sales on talk sport and in the press for all they're worth.
As you sit in the theatre of screams,
under the bright lights.
Watching the reds charge forward.
while the linesman keeps his flag up his arse.
It's all great so fill our seats please.

Something like that anyway.

Twunts.

Won't be anywhere near as poetic as you have penned, UB!

Last 5 Fixtures, Tickets.

Just found this on mcfc.co.uk. Prices starting from £194, anyone else think that's expensive?

<a class="postlink" href="http://m.mcfc.co.uk/?name=mancity&i=12538/1/0&artId=398276" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://m.mcfc.co.uk/?name=mancity&i=125 ... tId=398276</a>

Remember the final game of the season back in May? Sat 30 March: Newcastle United

Sat 13 April: West Bromwich Albion

Sat 27 April: West Ham United

Sun 19 May: Norwich City

(all fixture dates subject to change)

Prices start from £194 for adults and from £69 for juniors. Prices vary according to where you wish to sit in the Stadium and your age.

Re: Last 5 Fixtures, Tickets.

Posted this on similar thread 2 days since. Feelings are still the same.

I can understand the reason City have done this but for fans like myself it completely paralyses my ability to casually watch around 10-12 games a season. I'd like to come more often but I do shift work so miss 50% of the games straight away and also live over 100 miles away. As a result of this 5 match ticket plan, the 2 matches I could attend would cost me £97 each before, petrol or food.

If, as I would like to, bring my daughter, I am talking 2nd mortgage.

If the stadium does expand and Season Tickets become available I will definitely buy one as I would rather pay £500 and make around 12 games that suit rather than be forced to buy tickets for games I know I can't attend just to get to one or two I can with this 'Season End Ticket'

Not a moan, just my observation that I'm sure will be common with other casual fans too!

I posted this after some more time pondering this rip-off further.

The more I think about this and reading the other replies, my observation is definitely starting to become a moan!

Stadium expansion is a must, but also we need to convert the whole south stand area into a terrace that covers 3 tiers and have a system of no reservation for this area!

What happens is that you turn up with your membership card and pay at the turnstiles on the day. £30 adults, £15 juniors and £20 for any OAP daft enough to risk their life going in there!

The atmosphere would be amazing, as long as you got to the ground early enough you could guarantee getting in and even those coming from Australia could ensure attendance as long as they had Blue Membership, £30 and arrived early enough.

I for one would love it. It would be a throw back to the old days and attendances would be huge as supporters who suddenly had no plans that day could just rock up and get in rather than go through a military style operation of 10 weeks planning and a 2nd mortgage to buy a ticket to watch Wigan in a library!

Anyone who saw the Dortmund game tonight will know what I mean. Dortmund and Shalke don't get 80,000 people buying tickets 10 weeks in advance for stupid money. They serve their fan base by providing an atmospheric product, readily available at a sensible price.

I'm certain that if we employed this system, given the current popularity of Premier League football, that our gates could push 70,000 (stadium permitting) in an instant!.

It's an interesting idea, but I'm pretty sure that if you did it this way, it would be as quiet as the third tier as the majority of it would be filled with the one-game-a-season crowd (not saying that one-game-a-season fans don't sing, just...by far most of them don't) and some of the actual regulars who flock to the terrace area for the atmosphere would find that the fans from Australia that you hypothesise had turned up five hours early to make sure that they got in and consequently the season ticket holder since 1970-something would find himself shut out due to lack of room, or stood at the back of the terrace up as high as the third tier, where his songs couldn't be heard.

I'm all for safe standing done right, but I think you have to ensure that at least the bottom quarter are filled with season ticket holders, because they are the ones who can be relied upon to get the atmosphere going.

Re: Last 5 Fixtures, Tickets.

I asked on the original thread and didn't get a reply, so I'll ask again.

Does anyone know who is allowed to buy these tickets?

No one I have registered on my family & friends is eligible according to the website.

Completely agree. Perhaps the bottom tier would be ideally filled with season ticket holders from blocks 109 etc.

The crux of my point is twofold.

Firstly, if we are to expand as rapidly as we could, we will not do that by introducing ticket selling policies that encourage exclusivity; I ask you of those thousands of fans who were possibly going to attend 1 or 2 games towards the seasons climax seriously going to buy a ticket for 5 games over 3 months out knowing the will miss 3 or 4 games! It's too exclusive and it's a policy that is more United than City and it should be avoided or fans who cannot afford this lunacy will soon be marginalised.

Secondly, safe standing and the ability of on the day decisions to attend the match is essential for atmosphere. Virtually all our current adult fans will have first become hooked after standing on the Kippax. Imagine how few fans we'd have now if that first visit they had cost a weeks wage and took 3 months to plan; Not bloody many I'll tell you.

If we want to get armchair fans of their arses and in our stadium then we need to make it accessible, affordable and atmospheric.
