Todays Mirror

You can see already the difference in the treatment of the two new managers. City's MP is clueless, has a huge budget, doesn't know what he's doing and is lucky. If we win anything this year it is expected as the least MP can achieve.
Utd though, different story. Tough start but growing in confidence and looking more like the Champs they are as every game goes by. When they win by a single goal it's a deserved win, us with 80% possession! lucky. Oh and they have that leg end of a manager DM.

Disagree, it's nearly all bang on.

So we didn't deserve to win ?

Based on possession - yes
Based on the total shots - yes
Palace can feel unfortunate though given that Hart had to make more important saves than their keeper
For the 2nd game running a draw would have been a fair result overall, that said, winning these games in this way makes Champions.

Why the FUCK would a draw have been a fair result ?

It's a game of FOOTBALL for christ's sake. A team tried to stand in a line & stop us from scoring by booting the ball out from in front of their own goal, & almost managed it, due to good organisation, sheer numbers of bodies, a bit of bad finishing, & a bit of good fortune. They got out of their own half a couple of times & had a few shots, some of which were good efforts, none of which would have been great 'keeping had they gone in. When we scored, instead of throwing men forward, they carried on playing ten at the back, in order to keep it to 1-0 or pinch something on the break, because they knew we would continue to try & play football & their main concern was not letting too many in.

In spite of that, we were very close to scoring more.

They came within ten minutes of stopping us from scoring but failed. How the fuck does that merit them deserving a draw ?

If they deserved a draw, then so does every team who loses 1-0.

Completely valid article. Garcia is terrible in almost all depts apart from heading. Dzekos time is up. No one at that level particularly in our team should struggle to control a ball and his lack off effort is embarrassing particularly when you see the effort of negredo and aguero.

Questions also are rightfully asked of pellegrini. At the mid point of the second half it was almost a farce with just Garcia in midfield. Silva nd navas on the right wing with Milner behind Nasri on the left and Dzeko and negredo up front. Leaving Garcia on and taking Milner off was shambolic when we were desperate for a midfielder to get his foot on the ball and look forward.

Some people are far too sensitive when it comes to city related media.

Utds mirror report

Call it an inspired substitution. Call it a shrewd judgment call. Whatever label is given to the decision by David Moyes to bring on Danny Welbeck at Carrow Road, it was a ploy that worked.

Manchester United had laboured against a vibrant and energetic Norwich who looked anything but relegation candidates.

Only two excellent saves from David de Gea and defensive resistance inspired by Nemanja Vidic kept the scoreline goalless at half-time.

As an attacking force, the champions looked powder-puff as they relied on Javier Hernandez in a lone front-running role.

Without Robin van Persie, there was little threat in the area. Without Wayne Rooney, there was no surge of power. And without support, Hernandez looked lightweight.

With Robert Snodgrass and Nathan Redmond menacing for the home side on the wings and Wes Hoolahan giving Gary Hooper the kind of support that Hernandez lacked, De Gea had to keep out a fierce shot from Russell Martin and another effort from Hooper.

And when the occasion demanded, there was Jonny Evans to block a goalbound shot from Hoolahan.

No question which manager was more grateful to hear the half-time whistle. Time for Moyes to act. Off came Ryan Giggs and on went England striker Welbeck.

With Welbeck scoring what proved to be the winner in the
57th minute, Moyes was vindicated. But the origins of the goal could found as much in a stroke of luck and some alarming Norwich defending as in the ability of the much-improved Welbeck.

A loose ball 25 yards from the Norwich goal should have been cleared by Ryan Bennett. He could have put it right or left. Instead, he ballooned it against Welbeck. The rebound then took a touch off Hernandez and that released Welbeck, who drew John Ruddy, took the ball to the goalkeeper’s right and slid it into the net.

It proved to be enough. United have now won six games in succession and the Premier League pacesetters will be looking nervously over their shoulders.

Also looking over their shoulders – this time at the other end of the table – are Norwich.

This was not the performance of a team threatened with the dreaded drop. There was too much endeavour and too much quality for them to be a Championship side. Hoolahan was a constant menace, Hooper is a threat and Redmond a player of huge

What they did not have yesterday was the luck that always seems to desert a team struggling for points. The only consolation for manager Chris Hughton came from the results elsewhere with Crystal Palace losing and Fulham’s demolition at Hull.

As for United, it is the kind of result that looks good in the end of season round-up if the title is won. And it was an afternoon when they were strongest where many feel they are most vulnerable – in defence.

At the heart of their resistance was Vidic. He marshalled his troops, headed the ball away for fun and tackled with venom. His co-defenders fed off him and Norwich were frustrated.

Whether the gap between United and the top four is too great to bridge remains to be seen. But there is no question with Rooney due back on New Year’s Day to face Tottenham, United have the ammunition. Enough ammunition to leave Welbeck on the bench for the first 45 minutes.

“He looked weary at Hull,” said Moyes explaining why Welbeck was left out at the start. “But his performance changed the game. He came on and made a difference. He is a really good player and now he has to become a really good finisher.”

And there was nothing wrong with his finish yesterday – much to the chagrin of Hughton.

United resorted to occasional time-wasting towards the end and Hughton said: “I suppose that is a bit of a compliment to us. I know they’re delighted with the result"

They were given more space to shot at range because we didn't set up to have the whole team sat in our box. Taking Ferno off allowed even more time to line up long distant shots. This allowed space for them to get off several cheap shots. Be honest and tell me, if any them shots had gone in that you wouldn't have been disappointed with Hart. I have been.

In truth if just two more of those 20 odd shots we had had gone in then we wouldn't even be having this conversation.

We battered them yesterday, I'd be bored if I had to be a palace fan. Let's see how long it is before they get bored of being just a big defensive unit.

Didn't Milner pick up a knock?

Didn't seem like it to me but I may be wrong. Looked completely frustrated when he came off. If Garcia keeps getting a game in mf over him I can see Milner asking to leave in the summer

Questions rightly asked of Pellegrini?
Top of the league
,last 16 CL
10 wins & a draw last 11 games
Beat European champions away
Fisted utd spurs & arsenal

I think perspective is needed

Pellegrini rested some key players, realised he needed to step it up, brought a couple on, overran Palace & won the game, making tactical changes along the way which fucked them up, such as Milner suddenly attacking from fullback.

Milner then got injured, & so Clichy was put at right back, in order to avoid us getting stiffd down that side, you clueless, sad excuse for a 'rational' poster.

In case you morons haven't realised, we have a bunch of players already injured & a fucking horrendous couple of months of big games coming up.

Some of you should get a fucking time machine back to 1992 where the football will be easier to understand.
