train tickets for final

The FA have to make it an earlier kick off 4:45 at the latest purely because otherwise if the game does go to extra time and penalties the winning side fans who travel via rail won't be able to see the presentation etc.. I hope both clubs apply pressure to the FA to ensure it happens

Last train back to Wigan is even early than ours at half eight.

Those extra trains they put on yesterday were nearly empty I think so that might not encourage Virgin to do the same again. Maybe if they advertised them a bit earlier they might fill up a bit more though. Especially if they can run one later than 2100.

Where's the guy who works in train planning for Virgin?

He might know if it's likely they'll be extra trains or not.

Loads of discussions still ongoing between rail industry / FA and Police. I'll post something as soon as I know anything myself.

If the match is a late kick off, Virgin will put on later trains I'm sure of it. They won't leave thousands from both sides stranded in London, there's no engineering works.
After 9pm trains are diverted via Northampton between Milton Keynes and Rugby, this would add to the journey time and probably limit the number of extra trains they could run.

Looks like that's just a diversion and isn't a full blockage of the line. Shouldn't really affect.

Please do that. Thanks.

Also, I know this isn't your department but wondered if you knew anyway.

Would someone with an open return from yesterday who caught the 0820 which was over an hour late be entitled to a refund even if they had no reservation and therefore no proof that they actually were on that train or would they be wasting their time applying?

Well I think the train firms need to pull there finger out. With a confirmed 5.15pm kick off time and the last trains back up north at the moment are Euston 9pm, Runcorn 8.10pm, Warrington 2031hrs-Can you imagine the fucking bedlam getting back to euston...

Kick off 5.15-Match ends with no e-t or pens approx 7-10pm..Extra 30 mins for the presentation takes us to around 7.45 pm....No chance at all of getting back to euston.
If extra time and pens everyone can forget any of these trains IMO.

Fucking hell. Why not just do a 3pm kick off

'Fucking hell. Why not just do a 3pm kick off' - because that would mean someone having some common sense. Suppose it is too late for the club to do anything assuming they even discussed a 3.00pm kick off to start with
