Thus far….. too quick to the fold, over subscribed score from one of the main characters (rap artist named Salmo)….. like a decent Italian red, Gomorrah needed to breathe before popping a cork to the genre, not feeling it as yet (4 in)…. It was something like 15 years before named proceeded the sopranos, and for me surpassing, this is rushed, currently, jumping head first into the immortals bed of nails!

Just started the Leftovers (sure it's been discussed on here).
Going back a few years but standard HBO quality already (with Max Richter on the soundtrack and a great cast).
It's a good one! The first season can get a little choppy, but S2 and S3 are fantastic. So fight through the first few episodes even if you begin to lose interest.

Superb is right and I'm only one episode in.
Is it not expected when we have the dude??

The man is incredible, for me, the best actor of the last 30 years, his body of work is second to none but his personal views on life keep him ostracised from the elite, horseshit for me, could literally watch his performance in the big Lebowski on loop, genius at work!

I haven’t got on it yet mate but if you’re not feeling it I might not bother tbh

We have similar taste in this regard but give it a go, I wasn’t a fan of the first season of the sopranos until watching it back years later, so can by my own admission be reactionary, however I think you’ll get my point on this score, it seems to of attached names to the project to market, rather than continue the body of work we’ve seen before…. Anyway, I’ll finish and see how it concludes!

Oh yes. Definitely keeping this up. About to crack open Ep 3 of S1 although I have heard S2 and especially S3 really tases TV to the heights.
Max Richer does the soundtrack ffs....I could watch this with the TV the wrong way round and still love it.
But the cast and everything else is superb.
It's got everything for me just in the first 2 episodes....

Which show is this? Apols....this thread is fast moving!.

Also, here's the daily reminder not to watch Village of the Damn Cuckoos. This is the third show I've been brainwashed into watching. I'll at best get a neck rub out of it so not all is lost.

Blocco 181, newest offering for the Italian crime genre, it’s a bit ‘meh’….

Have you watched the killing?

I remember years ago flicking through channels on TV and landed on this scads noir drama (before it was even a thing) and immediately taking to it.
Me and my ex then watched every single one and utterly loved it.
Went off piste for successive seasons but there were others like the Bridge (again, dipped in quality for me when Saga's sidekick Martin left for sunnier climes.
Loved Borgen too but after a while the BBC was awash withs these Scandinavian dramas and many were soulless past the beautiful interiors and architecture.
Also enjoyed the Walllanders (and there were confusingly a few knocking around....even Branagh's version was enjoyable).

Apols.....long answer!

Really enjoyed Umbrella Academy but slightly disappointed at the end. Really good 9.75 episodes and 0.25 at the end that just peeved me off a bit.

Seen plenty of chatter on here about Stranger Things so have decided to see what the fuss is about. Currently a few episodes into S1 and liking it so far.

Well I’m all caught up and of course I love it. Every influence they have drawn from to make the show I absolutely loved as a kid, especially Stephen King. I binge read his stuff in my teens.

Blocco 181 very good especially if you enjoyed Gomorrah, half way through this trying to string it out.

The Offer, its am absolute must if you enjoyed The Godfather, gives a fantastic insight into how the film was made and especially about the character of Al Pacino the man. Two left to go here, really don't want to finish this one either.

Both high up there on my list of recommendations.
Whats it on?
