Txiki Begiristain

We are in transition and we've made some errors - big errors but the Spanish trio have to be given time. Getting shut of Txiki will destabilise everyone including Pep - people need to sit tight, buckle up and enjoy the next 3 or 4 years. I honestly think these guys will get it right but patience is needed - Pep is trying to build something very special but it will take time and it won't be without challenges along the way. There's so much right about City these days we need to keep some perspective.

Gundogan, nolito, bravo are not shite.
Neither is fernando. Most underrated player we have imo.

Gundogan, has proved nothing in the English game yet and alot depends on him being fit. Nolito is a good squad player but coming toward the end of his career and if you're convinced by Bravo then you're in a small minority I would say.

Fernando, like you said your opinion.

I make that about 56m even if you rate them, add KDB WTF happen to nearly 200m?

Agree...but you can't have a pop for going out and securing the players being identified by the club, in that respect he has done his job to the full. When that player fails to adapt and perform then I would rather question that player rather than the person who got his signature

You are quite correct he did land those players but if his role is to land those players he has to be culpable a long with those who have identified them (can anyone say with certainty who identifies players pre-Pep??).

Mangala was the second most expensive defender in the world, when purchased, but was the fourth choice french centre half behind the likes Of Sakho and Koscielny.

Its the same story with the likes of Stones etc. Someone may be identifying those players as who can potentially play in the Premiership but the club and I presume Txiki is negotiating fees which are far in excess of their worth.

Basically paying fees appropriate for the best players in that position but in reality only buying players who at best have the potential to play at the top level. That in my opinion is why his position is questioned.

But they're not top drawer either, in fact they're pretty fucking average in my opinion. I don't think any of those mentioned above would get in the starting XI on a regular basis at Arsenal or Chelsea or even Liverpool.

I accept we can't have a squad of 23 stars, but equally each time we buy a player he should be better than the one he replaces. Too many times we haven't done that; Tevez > Nolito, Barry > Gundogan, De Jong >> Fernando, Hart > Bravo.

We could have got better players for £300million. Even one game changing star would have made a huge difference, we've signed too many average squad players, or ones for the future, who may or may not become amazing.

Fernandinho, Sterling, Stones and KDB are the only ones who've really improved the side.

But we can all see who the players are that we need, why can't they?!

Of course we could.

Arse paid £32m for Sanchez, Chelsea £32m for Hazard. Spurs paid £10m for Vertonghen.
If we'd made better recruitment decisions at that time that would still have left about £230m for full backs, plus Fernandinho, KDB, Sterling and Stones. We'd have the best Prem team ever assembled.
