Txiki Begiristain

Garry Cook the laughing stock of football? Really?

Everything that man said became reality, oh did they laugh, but as the old saying goes, he who laughs last, laughs longest.

He was a superb CEO who got the club , fans and the City of Manchester.

He fought our case, far more than the present incumbent, who cleary does not get us as fans.

And Garrry and for that matter Mancini would not have put up with the utter crap the media and other clubs throw at us.
He bought the fans a pint and told them we would topple Man United. That sort of shit plays well in the Peanut Gallery but in the real world item number one on the job description of a football CEO is "Don't make a complete dick of yourself on a regular basis". You might like care to admit it but, to give Cook credit, he does.

As I've pointed out several times, that's why he ended up on the scrapheap after a brief stint in wrestling.

Gary was great and just what we needed at the time. Swagger and a fuck you attitude.

The list of players shows how hard it is to buy the right player. Should it be easier now that we are established winners and can attract top players or was it easier before the cartel got involved?

We can’t afford to buy a 60 million defender and a 100 million forward in the same window. No way does the club leave pep at a disadvantage if it can be avoided.

Slow squad build now instead of buying all the players we need in one window.

Could not disagree more, he was an outstanding CEO.

And I would have him rather than Ferran any day of the week.

Cook had the closest thing to a blank cheque book. Txiki does not.
Maybe not. But we’ve had hundreds of millions at his disposal and we’ve bought a lot of fucking dross.

I mean, spending £65m on Mahrez and Rodri alone tells you we’ve hardly been short on meeting asking prices. More that the players we’ve signed, with our spending cap of hundreds of millions over the last handful of years, have been utterly shite.

Lots of dross my arse.

Txiki alone does not buy players, do people think the manager ceo and others don't have an input, so to put blame on him for a player that does not live up to expectations is just plain stupid.

Gary was a good CEO for the time, he couldn't have driven the club forward in the same way Soriano has. Especially through FFP.
Not sure how you can say he would have not coped with FFP, and for sure he would not have stood in a corner in silence when our owner and club's reputation was been systematically destroyed by all and sundry.

Ferran has his CFG baby but in my humble should spend a lot more time on MCFC.
