Top Trumps: A contract for £65m with Etihad and Man City's name on it and a statement from the UAE Exec Committee that they covered the bulk of the Etihad sponsorship trumps emails.

Most reasonable people would be alarmed by the content of the emails, and the natural question would be OK show me the the money trail, and show me the contracts. That I am assuming is City's body of irrefutable evidence. If City can't produce it then that would be bad. I assume we can.

Spot on, agree with every word.

Amazing how this thread has changed since we've been to CAS. The start, it was fuck UEFA we haven't done anything wrong.
Now it's about sacking people within the Club because we might of. Amazing considering none of know one iota what is happening.
Just the conditional musings of anxious bluemooners. All will be well.

It’s ironic that a few short weeks ago, I said that I don’t care if we have broken rules put there deliberately and revised to “get us”. One of the regular posters rounded on me for having the temerity to even suggest that the club had done anything wrong. Yesterday, the same poster said on this thread, how would you feel about the club if we have been found to be in the wrong?

Hilarious! I will say again. Nobody knows if we have or haven’t broken these invented rules. In my opinion, the rules were put there for Manchester City and for Manchester City ONLY. I think other clubs have in the past (PSG) and will in the future break these rules. But UEFA will be choosy about where and when they are applied.

I don’t care what CAS do, City ‘til I die! The only thing I would say is that with Der Spiegel and Liverpool FC about, our internet security needs sorting out. I trust this has already been done.

And if our security has not been resolved, then heads definitely should roll !

what did the beginning of my first post say? Something about having exhausted all of the options and still found guilty ,maybe...

Two different things

What made you think my post was aimed at you ? It was just a general comment about the changing theme of the thread. Channeling your inner scouse ? It's got to be about you ;-)

But he wasn't the architect of the scheme. He didn't take up his role in late 2012 and suddenly decide that ADUG would take over the funding of the Etihad deal. Of course he would almost certainly have been aware of the details but I wouldn't expect him to carry the can if the appeal isn't upheld.
It's irrelevant that he inherited a position or a "scheme" as you call it. At any point he could have changed it, he negotiated the 2014 settlement personally (we know this), he has been Group CEO for EIGHT years, he will have been centrally involved in budgeting, FFP compliance, he has directed every step of the discussions with UEFA, he will have been central to the strategic approach to the leaks, the interaction with UEFA, the stance taken, the dispute strategy. The CEO takes credit for all the successes of the Group but naturally he takes responsibility for all its failings. How can it be any other way.

I'm not sure people comprehend what will happen if we lose. If you make the sort of allegations (implicit and explicit) we have made, go for CAS rather than settle with a "we will win" attitude and and then lose at CAS, the storm will be vicious and we will have no shield. We will be attacked from all angles both in the media and in the game itself with people looking to disrupt or do more serious harm.

I think Sheikh Mansour should carry the can, after all it’s his fault he bought us.

So do you think our "CAS as a first step" statement was a thought out strategy or was the outcome you predict not considered?

Ah well. That’s really cheered me up - NOT

MD one of the main journalists baiting city fans over this on twitter has just blocked a few hundred blues en mass

I wonder if that's a sign

I've had almost no interaction with him aside from one ok DM exchange where he constantly made me out to be some delusional idiot but I'm blocked too. I never followed and had muted but made sure I blocked him just in case!
