UEFA Independent Inquiry

The more you read about Uefa the conclusion looms large that they are fuckin' amateurs who might struggle with organising a set of fixtures for the Gorton and District Sunday League.
Yet fixtures without the feral rats pass without incident. The "U" in UEFA may well stand for useless, but they might not be at fault this time.

Can you just clarify that it is indeed a possibility to copy the QR code, stick it on a fake ticket, and for that QR code to scan through the turnstile ok if used before the real one, which in turn renders the real ticket (being scanned later) invalid? Reason being that I'm just having a discussion with a Liverpool fan on Twitter and trying to explain to him a possible reason as to why his mum's (genuine) ticket didn't scan.
Don't bother mate. If he is too thick to work that out for himself he isn't worth communicating with

Yes…

Standard QR codes have no anti-counterfeiting capabilities. Cons: Any counterfeiter can copy these static QR codes for use on counterfeit products

Interesting how Sky quickly changed the narrative after the game.

Here's Kaveh hyping up the amount of fans already there on Saturday morning without tickets and also saying how the Paris authorities have done such a great job.

Then the scouser says the majority there haven't got tickets but at 6pm "they will all go up to the game" and "there will be a lot more Liverpool fans in there than 20k, I promise".

Just heard from a LFC fan I used to work with who was there. He said he had never been to a game with so many tickets changing hands. They were literally being given away as the match got closer and touts gave up trying to sell them as everyone who wanted one had one.

That interview tells its own story. The broadcasters like SKY are complicit in everything that happened. They create the hype and fuel the culture which leads to trouble. When it happens they wash their hands of it.

The inquiry will be held on the 10th of June.
Here are it's findings.
Uefa did everything right.
Li'pool are never to blame for anything
The French Police couldn't give a fuck who was to blame but they did attack the guy doing the inquiry
President Macron was absolved of all blame but he did state it was the UKs fault just because.

Yes we’ll done for spraying children with pepper spray. Good job.
Look, this was almost exactly the same scenario as Hillsborough. There was nowhere for those people to go as the stadium was already packed.

At Hillsborough, the police opened a gate, and a large number of people were killed or injured. The police were held solely to blame and their commander was put on trial for manslaughter.

If you had been the police commander in Paris, what would you have done? Well, you wouldn't have opened a gate, that's certain sure. It would amount to gross negligence with a high risk of getting done for manslaughter.

The answer was to disperse the crowd, using reasonable force, and that's what they did. They were right to do so, and I'd say the same if City were in the same scenario. You are better off pepper-sprayed than dead.

The fault lies solely with those who jibbed in or used snide tickets.

This looks fairly normal, certainly for a game of this stature. In the comments he even says this was right round the corner from where incidents occurred. So obviously for some reason the incidents appeared to be at specific gates and entry points.

Not heard a peep out of Carragher yet or have I missed it? He’s probably been advised to keep a low profile as he’s as complicit as most for whipping the frothy mouthed Scallies into a frenzy before every CL game, the lack of self awareness & responsibility he takes for the words that leave his mouth are incredible, not to mention the spit

From experience QR in retail/entertainment for vouchers/tickets I'd say that it definitely happens to render that QR as subsequently invalid/used, otherwise you could reuse the QR code indefinitely. If the QR code is the same, then it doesn't matter if it's on a fake ticket, a real ticket or a screenshot - it will be single use only.
