It's like Beckham and Ronaldo. Now, obviously Ronaldo is an excellent player and far better than the other two, but the fame has long outgrown the talent and the fame and sycophantic celebrity worshipping fans is why he gets rated by some as better than Messi and other players from history who were better than him. He's overrated just on a higher level.
