United (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

The weirdness of VAR has intervened here. Normally VAR can't intervene because the referee has "seen" the pulling and not given it on the pitch. Here, he's been asked if he saw it and he's said no, which at that point triggers the rest of the protocol. Once you get a look on a screen then it obviously is a foul.
If United had got it nothing would have been said.

On reflection I'm pretty relaxed this morning, long gone are the days were I'd be gloating like fuck all week, it's just another game to me now where I'll always be expecting to beat the cunts.

Don't get me wrong it's sweet, and even more so doing at that dump, but like this season the first fixture I look for when they come out in summer is Liverpool, as for playing Utd it would be more exciting playing Oldham or Rochdale these days.

When the officials don't get involved and cheat we smash them every day of the week, miles ahead of them and will be for a very long time

Up the Blues!

That's usually how it works.
I think the pulling and shoving has been allowed for United defences but penalties given in opposing area.

Usually rules on and off the field are solely to penalize City whereas the same rules can be ignored for other red clubs.

Why there is a sudden change I don't know but it does highlight one of the areas that have been taken for granted by particularly United and possibly all other teams who play us.

Drink it in blue

A question for people with longer memories than me.

I remember us losing (a lot) against Ferguson's United. I remember some painful ones. I remember them clearly being the better team and outplaying us.

But I can't remember anything like this and the 2-0 from a few years ago. Just an absolute gulf in class, an absolute humiliation where the score only tells half the story. Even at our worst I remember players putting a tackle in.

Seems like this United team are used to it as well, Liverpool do the same to them as well.

Hilarious. Goldbridge really is the gift that keeps giving. "Man Cheaty"? He must have been up all night thinking of that one! And where's that accent from? He sounds like someone desperately trying to sound like he's from Manchester.

Hate to break this to you, but his ridiculous schtick is deliberately shite - his income relies on people like us clicking on those videos then commenting and sharing.

So he's laughing at you more than you're laughing at him.

At no point did the commentators mention that Utd brought on over 200m worth of players from their bench, or just how much was on there in big money.

At least twice, the commentator called referred to Gvardiol as Akanji, who wasn't even on the pitch.

And the pundits arguing the penalty, the first ever given at OT in the PL era, was 'soft' and other teams have those not given all the time, ffs.

Really?
I remember a midweek night match where we didn't get a kick and Kanchelskis roasted us for 90mins.

We were dogshit back then and took a few hammerings, but "fortunately" for us, when we did truly have a pathetic team, we weren't in the same division as them, where we were beaten in our derbies by Stockport County :)
