United (H) Post Match Thread

Spot on. Dunno if you were at game yesterday but I felt like there was no atmosphere from the ko second half, it was flat even before they scored. I’m not one to usually bemoan stuff like that but yesterday given the context it was very poor.

Yes I was and agree but once again, hundreds of the SS3 were still in the bars.

Like many I simply cant get my head around what went wrong. For the third time conceded three goals within 15 minutes. Fragile characters?
And we were absolutely fantastic the first half. Sterling should’ve had a hat trick. He cost us.
Appalling refereeing but that is an every match kinda thing we should be used to by now.

Can’t see us knocking Liverpool out nor can I see us beat Spurs. But it would be typical City to do it otheewise.
If not we surely seal the league and end up having had a great season like Pellegrini had in his first year.

Spot on pal, some absolute pricks who don't appreciate the superb football that will culminate in winning two trophies, who would they want as Manager? How anyone can slag Pep off is unbelievable, Allardyce, PEG, Wenger anyone? Come on here and if you don't like Pep state who you would have and be prepared to be laughed at.

As much as we praise him we as paying fans can also criticise and express and opinion.

I wouldnt swap him for anyone in the world but the last week hasnt been a great one for pep

Fuck me there’s some flappers on here!
We’ve had two freak results imo, partly down to fatigue (I know they’ve had a break but some of look leggy) at the closing stages of an incredible season. We have conceded two games to inferior opposition as a result. Yesterday we could have been 5-0 up half time but we weren’t. It happens. Even in that poor second half we could have had another three but for a brilliant save, bad luck, and one of the most obvious penalties you’re likely to see being denied by a referee who makes me question the integrity of the game I love. In fact his performance in the second half was ludicrously one sided and absolutely aided the result.
Having said all that I don’t know what has happened to our defending. We lost control and we lost our concentration.
So with one trophy in the bag we will also win the title in a matter of days. It’s no big deal really.

Agreed...bigger picture in all this. Their day in the sun is to be followed by us securing the title

Can anyone tell me why Gundogan refuses to tackle and yet is playing Cm. Ability not in doubt but he shit out of every challenge. Did the same against lpool with Milner for Oxs goal. They stepped it up tempo wise yesterday and got more physical and he went missing. Again.

Didnt really pick up on that, possibly in the back of his mind is getting another long term injury ? His ability is not in question, but it wont be helpful if what you mention is happening

Exactly.

They and their team were dead & buried, their players had bottled it & the crowd was getting right at them.

They came out 2nd half, geed up by Mourinho, ready to have one last go & were met by a half empty, half hearted ground & a City team who also thought it was easy.
This. There was an arrogance about yesterday that I’ve not seen from us before both as a team and a crowd.

We're not allowed to criticise the atmosphere or compare it to other clubs on here but I agree.

Even getting behind them when they pulled the first goal back to gee the players up... it never happened, most of the crowd is reactive and waits for the players to get them going these days. It is the same at most clubs now in modern football but it doesn't mean we have to ignore it or that we can't yearn for a different approach. Maybe it wouldn't have made a difference but as much as it pains me to say it if that happened to Liverpool at Anfield they'd have immediately raised the roof off to wake their players up as soon as they made their way to the centre spot, I doubt Pogba would have got his second goal which was a result of players switching off.

We nailed it first half.

We raised our own team & put the shits up Utd. It was exactly the kind of atmosphere which would put Liverpool out of the Champs Lg. Brilliant atmosphere.

But it's needed for 90 mins. As you say, there was no real attempt to raise the team even after Utd scored. Actually there was, but it came from the family stand & most of the ground including the singing section, didn't join in.

Will take a long time to get over yesterday.

Not felt like this since we last got relegated at Ipswich. Never seen anything like it, peoples’ faces were just shell shocked. Coming out of the ground there was an Erie silence. People weren’t talking to each other, just walking to Town with heads down.
The most ridiculous post and the worst try of wumming I've ever seen.
Clap clap clap.

Once in a lifetime opportunity ???? NO ITS NOT! With Pep in charge we more than likely will get another chance against them at Home or at OT in the next few years.

I will never forgive Pep?. Tell you what, go cry in the corner! Stop being a spoilt sounding littleboy. Jesus I'm sick and tired of the likes of you moaning and others on here. If we do go through in the CL you don't deserve to see us win that game. Prefer the old days with fans supporting the team, than a couple of defeats and this arrogant attitude that we should win every game.
For me, this was my biggest City game in my lifetime, and it probably was for a couple other people as well. I`ve been a City fan for 11 years (I`m only 17), and I have never stopped supporting them, regardless of the results. After losing a game to the rags, everyone should be allowed to be disappointed. Especially when we`re twice the team
