United post-match thread

Dross !!,
Maffeo looked really good yet Sanne who is the same age was terrible !!.

Sanne is always in the first team squad because Pep bought him in ,Maffeo gets a run out once in a blue moon.

Not happy at all with whats going on but I suppose its early days but it was a derby and these are the game us fans want to win !.

Thought Maffeo was excellent and we more than held our own in the first half.

Nacho isn't ready yet to lead the line, there were a few times we should have been in and he made the wrong decision.

Really need to win at the weekend though to make that team selection worthwhile.

Nothing less than a win at West Brom will do now.

After all Pep virtually sent out a reserve team tonight to ensure all our key players were fully rested and are ready to go full pelt this weekend instead.

Knew we'd lose the moment I saw our team sheet, just pleased we only lost 1-0 to be honest.

In the first half we outplayed them so I'm not sure how you can say this....Ill tell you why (and be very honest at the same time)....I thought exactly the same as you when i aw the team sheet but i was really wrong and that was proved beyond argument based on the first half. The sub of Kompany really didnt help along with Kolorv coming in (Though i know Pep has said he had to take Kompany off so prob had little choice - though he could have put the other young lad on and he would probably have been better than kolorov).

Anyone pleased with the way we played , could and should have been 2 up at half time , impressed with maffeo and garcia , easy chance for Nacho and a nailed on pen , blatant foul for their goal , anyway feck em the futures bright for this blue

Yep, this is the way i saw the game as well. After seeing the starting line ups i was expecting to lose by 2 or 3 goals. It's disappointing we didn't create more but it will come good.

I would be concerned if we had played like this with Silva, KDB, Bravo, Stones, Sagna, Sterling, Aguero and Frenandinho in the starting line up, bigger fish to fry.

Never thought I would see the day (again) when we would just roll over and let that crew beat us because we have "more important" games to play. Pellegrini would have got slaughtered on here if he had selected that team tonight. Someone needs to have a word with Mr Guardiola.

Agreed mate. At least Pep can see the bigger picture. Every other club with a new manager has a transition period. Our fans don't accept this. For me, during our transition period when our manager (the best in the world) has had to rebuild our aging squad, we are top of the league.
Klopp is a better manager then pep

Found the Guardian's interpretation of events refreshingly novel:

"Mike Dean could easily have awarded a penalty as the midfielder was unceremoniously bundled off the ball by Fernando, and might have done so but for the ball running free for Mata to find Caballero’s bottom corner."

I jest not.
