Don't think so they are separate issues.

Correct.

However, if he doesn't get a work permit then he can't be registered anywhere until January. That means that they'll have paid £16m for Rojo to enjoy Madrid for 4 months. The alternative is for them to loan him somewhere with less strict work permit regulations until January where at least they know he'll be playing football and keeping fit.

As Rojo clearly isn't a Sporting player anymore (one of the few things we seem to know for sure) then he is either a United player, or a free agent. In either case he can be registered at any time, not just during a transfer window. Transfer windows are for transfers between clubs only, free agents can move anytime.

The legal dispute is altogether different though. I would disagree with those saying it isn't an issue because the transfer is in everybody's interest, it is an issue because its in everybody's interest.

If Doyan let the transfer go ahead they will then need to get the money from Sporting when there is every reason for Sporting to take as long as possible to pay up (if liable). If Doyan insist on taking it to the courts, Sporting will be much more likely to be flexible and accommodating in order to get their share of the money quicker. There is no way Doyan will let go unless they are made to or paid. This could take a long time and Rojo is unlikely to play until something is sorted out in Portugal.

Another English player's career ruined. Rags destroying Englands chances at International level, er no this is the rags not City.

Unsurprisingly, Durham has been having a pop at Cleverly for failing to fulfil his potential. Its only City who ruins players. The rags give them a chance at greatness and its the players who fail the rags, not the other way round.
well said...

very very well said stony.

Taken from Ragcafe.

That's pretty crazy.
Doesn't take inflation into account at all. Signings like Keane, Rio, Rooney, Veron etc were all "mega-signings" but compared to today's fees, it's peanuts due to the proliferation of sugar daddy clubs and meteoric rise in TV revenue.

Plus Duncan Castles is a well known ABU and cnut.

I'd say even by todays standards the fees paid for Camel gob, wiggy and Veron would still be substantial, maybe peanuts compared to the recent british record signing but remind me again who paid that? As far as the iris gobshite Keane is concerned wasnt his fee a record at the time as well?

Deluded fucker,

The way I see it

Work permit is not a football issue but an employment one that anyone whether footballer or not coming to this country have to satisfy if they have come from outside EU.

Third party issue, because we don't have 3rd party ownership FA have to be satisfied that Rags own 100% of registration.

3rd party issue between Sporting and Doyen if the rags have paid out Sporting but haven't resolved the 3rd party issues then it could spell trouble, if however they bought 100% of registration of player from Sporting and now Doyen and Sporting are arguing again nothing for them really to worry about.

Very true. You also forgot the likes of Cole and Yorke.
