In the grand scheme of things Leicester might have had a big impact on the Rags season. Of course against quality their frailties will be exposed, but if they pushed on at 3-1 it could've gone a long way to installing the press pushed 'fear factor' they beat a poor QPR and the following weekend were dubbed by sky as the new gallacticos, and by the bbc as the rejuvenated and revitalized united. The press certainly push them and a big win on Sunday they'd have been in over drive. Well done Leicester.

It's a curse to them, being objective here the last thing a team and club in their position needs is heightened expectation

Out of interest, is there anybody who is not more confident of victory when we play them in November than at any other time in the last 40 years?

Of course, this is the premier league, and on any given day any one team can beat another, we all know that, especially in a Derby match. But does anybody not expect us to win when we play them?

I would expect us to beat them 8 times out of 10. But with their attacking strength there's always the chance that they'll have on of those days when the attack clicks and everything goes for them. Like the first half of the FA cup tie. We just need to make sure we dont concede an early goal.

I'm more worried about conceding an early red card.

Great player, but fuck me Di Maria goes down easy, you can bet they will be screaming like little girls and leaping around like a bunch of ballet dancers.

I think that's really unfair to little girls and ballet dancers.

They keep banging on about how important the injury to Evans is.

Is it just me who thinks he's not good enough? He's a decent player but there's something soft about him. They need a leader, I just don't see that in him.

He's easily there best center back though.

He doesn't have a lot of competition, though, does he?

adding absolutely NOTHING to this conversation but the BBC article about needing the £100m to win the title has this as its accompanying photo

Interesting to reflect on who exactly they have played so far.

This season they have played 6 games, in all competitions, only two of which have been against teams that were premier league teams last season.

The two games against premiership teams (as per last season) have seen them accumulate one point - away at Sunderland (where they won under Moyes). The three games they have played against newly promoted teams have seen them accumulate four points - a 0-0 draw at Burnley, a 4-0 win over the same QPR side that Spurs also beat 4-0 and Sunday's fiasco. The other game was of course against MK Dons.

They are just about to start a run of games against more established premier league teams. Sensible rags should be afraid.

Very afraid.

And foolish ones too!

It'll be like us last season. At some point* teams started figuring "fuck, it, lets have a shootout then". Difference is SASAS just pummeled teams into oblivion. This will probably be the counterfeit galactico's strategy too. Thing is while on paper their attack is quite fearsome two differences are that:
1. Their defense might be just as comical as ours and even our already lightweight midfield is not as non-existent as theirs.
2. Falcao, Di Maria and RVP are not exactly the type of players to track back or harry defenders and win the ball back. Suarez was always running. Sterling is always running.

They'll win a couple of games 4-1, but can also see them taking 4-2 losses. A pity it's Sam Alladyrce playing them this weekend, if the West Ham that played our shit selves on Sunday would show up, they'd also score two goals on these lot easily.

*I'm surprised nobody in the media picked up that we were our most solid defensively when the midfield three were Lucas, Henderson and Allen. There's something missing from that midfield three.....

What odds are being quoted for LVG getting the sack as soon as its mathmatically impossible for them to get CL and they can get rid on the (relatively) cheap?

I'm sure the bookies must be onto this by now.

A few Rags I know are starting to have serious doubts about him, they think there is something not quite right, may be the task he has taken on is a bit too much for him the bizarre statements and slagging players off certainty does not sit right with them

Refer them to the speech about leadership by the City executive who gave LVG as an exemplar of a shit leadership style.
I've mentioned this a few times on this thread and suggested that it might all go horribly wrong. I think the people running that club are clueless.

Indeed.

That man of honour is probably feeding the press all the fighting to get his job back. Sir Bryan Riggs manager of the worlds greatest club(TM). It is destined....
