I don't "respect" SAF, despite what this report says. I acknowledge that he was successful in terms of reults, but respect has to be earned by displaying respect for others, such as opponents, referees and media in his case - something he clearly did not do. Sneering bullies who show contempt for others aren't "respected".

Personally, I cannot accept that he was a good manager. My dislike of the man is so entrenched within me that I will not see beyond the execrable tyrant that he was, and how his foul-mouthed threats to the officials and the media personnel put them above the rules. Immense sums of money, favouritism and/or threats towards anyone not a part of his inner-circle made them successful, not his footballing nous.

For these reasons alone I will never respect to him.

It's interesting - if you look at their red cafe, the older fans (middle-aged and older) still won't hear a bad word about him. But as you go down the age ranges more and more people are beginning to resent him: for the reasons you mention and his meddling such as the phone call to Ronaldo. I suppose as the years and years pass without a PL or indeed a trophy of any kind, I can only see this continuing until a majority of their fans hate him.... but I don't think we are quite there yet.
