That Final & then the Charity shield - where we also struggled to break them down & defend their counters , should have been an Alarm bell to Txixi & Pep that the squad needed freshening up.
As you have alluded to they are poor. If a poor team like that gives u problems in two separate games ( not a 1 off ) your team needs to dramatically improve.

You coulld argue their 1974 relegation squad was better because it included some fading former great players. I believe this squad is worse than their 1980s team which didn't win much. It is amazing how badly they have recruited in the last decade. When you consider how many very lucky results they have had this season they are flattered by their position in the table.

They genuinely don't have a single player another team would want to sign.
After wasting a billion they've been left with nothing.

Judging from this post-Wolves comment on the caff the penny is beginning to drop in the land of the brain-dead.

Can we not just feck off FFP and buy a whole new squad? Just take the points deduction. It's basically what Forest did.
 
Wreck it Ralph’s reputation is looking better every day!! He was so correct. Had they taken his advice, suffered a bit, appointed a younger forward thinking manager who spent Ten Hags millions wisely (he couldn’t have done it worse) they MIGHT be showing progress by now. Although there’s no indication they Would have appointed the right manager.

Instead they let Ten Hsg spend 200-300 million more on donkeys and they have players not only whose stock is at a 52 week low but they cannot shift due to making ridiculously high wages!!

Long may it continue!!
 
Heard today that they turned Amawhatshisname in the summer as felt they didnae have the team to play his type footy then a few weeks later beg the fooker to come to take over from the last rat in charge....how bad is that

After the last four seasons, I wouldn’t mind if we miss out on Europe altogether next season, provided we are able to celebrate St Beneathus Day.

It would give the players some much needed rest next term.
