GOPers in the House and Senate need to believe supporting him makes it more likely they lose their next elections or get primaried as opposed to what it’s been the last 10+ years, which is the precise opposite. We are still a long, long way from that if that day ever comes.

But to your point, as we know in nearly all endeavo(u)rs in life — change comes slowly, then quickly.
Agree. I don't see any sequence of events where he leaves early. His cabinet is designed specifically around loyalty. They are never playing the 25th card. My understanding is that JD would have to initiate the vote and again, that's not gonna happen.

He could be impeached and removed but that requires a long messy process and 2 3rds majority. So I don't see it.

So the GOP are stuck with him. I can only see this getting messy as the mid terms will be a disaster for the GOP and once they are done all eyes are on the positioning for the next POTUS nomination. Can you imagine Trump staying quiet and supporting the process??? He's not going to enjoy others making a pitch for his job.

People are starting to distance themselves, and the crazier he gets, the easier it's going to be for his more ardent deciples to peel away, but I think it's going take something monumental to unseat him.
It’s Biden all over again this. Obviously different, but kind of them same.

They all know he’s lost the plot but it’s an easier life to bury your head in the sand and pretend everything is fine with a mentally unwell president than it is to speak out.

Obviously Biden’s final straw was that car crash debate. The bar for craziness with Trump is so so high that he’d have to do something like literally pull down his pants and piss all over the oval office floor for them to do anything.

If they do actually do something as mind bendingly stupid as put up Harris again, the Democrats deserve to lose and the inevitable subsequent civil war in the USA is probably a fair outcome.

They won’t though. Newsom is the obvious front runner at the moment but two years out nobody had even heard of Obama so it’ll end up being someone left field by the time the election comes round.

I actually reckon if they’d have flipped it round and Tim Walz was the candidate they’d have probably won in 24.
Agree.

That School coach role model attitude of his would have worked wonders to neutralise MAGA and encourage the people.

I just hope the Dems aren't looking for another Hilary at the next election to stand at the next election.

I’d argue it’s significantly different. Biden’s debilitating condition, which I’ve seen happen to my own family members, sadly, resulted in him giving some car crash interview and public appearances moments. What it didn’t do was create a situation where a highly destructive, illegal war, that has resulted in the deaths of innocent children, potentially causing the breakup of NATO, destroying the world economy and making millions of lives unsafe internationally.

People laughed at Biden, which was sad to watch, but people’s lives are being ruined and even ended by Trump. I also don’t believe Biden was the one necessarily at the wheel in terms of policies during the latter parts of his tenure. Whereas this absolute shit show is being driven by a maniac in Trump, with his cowardly party doing very little or nothing to stop it.

So completely different situations in my opinion.

Yes the outcomes are different which is which is exactly what I said.

There are similarities though - two presidents who are too old and too mentally handicapped to fulfil their duties and need to be removed, but the cabinet is putting their own personal loyalties ahead of the good of the country they swore an oath to serve.

That’s the point I’m making.

The difference with Biden was that he had sound-minded policy makers working away in the background keeping things on a relatively even keel.

With the current guy 'in charge' (I'd argue he not even in charge of his own brain at this juncture) that is simply not the case. He's appointed the absolute worst of the worst, with their own sick and twisted agendas, and the corruption is off the scale.

I don’t think we really disagree, and I understand the point you are making, I’m just arguing from the perspective of a senior Democrat, the situation was completely different to what a senior Republican should be dealing with right now.

I don’t disagree, the situation is a lot more dangerous now as there are no adults in the room at all.

All the adults left in his first term. Even the most ardent toady Republicans like Bill Barr, and Capitalist such as Rex Tillerson were forced out becuase the pushed back against the dear leader, even though it was reluctantly in the case of Barr.

Now we've got Hegseth, Rubio, Miller, Mullin and a bunch of other book-licking sycophant, sychopaths and corrupt assholes in charge.

@FogBlueInSanFran

Cnn have just today done these polls. Now we've had our run ins regarding this as you keep saying its pretty much bollocks, So i don't want another flair but surely now you have to look at what's happening not only in the Democrat base but also the Republican. This is absolutely fuckin staggering.

This is absolutely beautiful.

Hopefully Russia First goes that negative next.

There is one other option which is cheap and quick.
But I can't say it or I get the ban hammer

Looking at the state of him he may die of natural causes rather than a bullet
Just looked up his dad who died at 93 and was diagnosed with Alzheimer's at 86, so longevity runs in the family, but fingers crossed eh
