Iheanacho is so good already that he could possibly play regularly imo but if he doesn't, or Pellegrini doesn't think he's ready, then he needs to go out on loan too. we can't have them doing nothing.

My personal opinion is that if Negredo goes, that's the call a call Pellegrini's made based on Kelechi's performances in pre season. It's one I'd actually be delighted with the more I think about it. That 4th spot should be for a young player with potential and at 17 years old the Nigerian is definitely that. It also gives us breathing space in the CL squad in terms of foreigners.

Iheanacho can't get a work permit for another month (when he turns 18) and, even then, he's very raw and would be best loaned out to someone who can give him regular first team football.

Negredo won't play til almost the same time.

imo, Iheanacho pre season was a better player than Negredo was at the end of last season & if Negredo was only going to produce that level, then the team would be better with Iheanacho in it, young or not. I would like to see us give him an opportunity & then if he struggles, loan him out later.

Give him a try first. I recon our crowd will love him & he will give us the boost people are craving in the Falcao thread.

The doom-monger scenario would be Aguero and Jovetic injured at the same time AND Yaya at AFCON.

Given their recent injury history it is entirely possible Sergio and Jovetic could be injured at the same time - though hopefully not!

Letting Negredo go with no replacement would represent the weirdest piece of business we have done since Txiki has been here.

Though it is pretty clear Negredo doesn't want to be here.

They were last year. Edin scored the goals that took us the title and he'd do it again given the chance. Have a little faith.

As far as I understood it there was no guarantee that Kelechi was going to get a work permit. I can only think that the club may have received assurances in that department. In saying that I still would much prefer we retain the beast.

I would still say that we need to bring in 1 more body, just to complete the spot (2 player per position).

Now I am not advocating a striker (especially with kelechi possibly available, but who knows about the work permit).

But being that there are reports that we would play 4231 more often with either Yaya or Silva in the hole makes me concerned at lack of MF options. Playing Silva in the hole means that we would have 3 players for 2 wide positions, playing Yaya there would mean that we would have 2 MFs for 2 CM positions (not counting Lampard). IMO we either need to get a MF in (Pogba on loan with permenant next summer? Schniderlin?) or an AM (Isco) or a WF/LW (Shaqiri? Reus?).

Probably too late for any of these deals though

I can imagine Yaya playing upfront with Aguero. Might be a good idea to try out.
This a joke ???????????????????

Agreed, terrible idea but then it was only 12 months ago we were playing Garcia at centre back, so you never know maybe it's a goer.

This Jorge Mendes is the devil of transfers. Wonder what could have been Mangala's original price that we could lower to 32m(which is huge for two good(ish) seasons in Portuguese league for a cb)?

Now he probably helped to negotiate on Valencia side for Negredo (he and Valencia owner are best buddies...) on the other side he tried to help Falcao and get huge money for him either from City or United or anyone else.

He is making fucking 10's of million pounds every transfer window from agent fees, % of prices, 3rd party deals etc.

Seriously getting this guy as a transfer guru for your club would mean he could get toghether two world class squads on a positive spend balance.

Txiki must wake up early to deal with agents like Mendes, but if we are still in the Marwood/Cook era, this Mendes would have got us pay 150m for Falcao today.

Kia Joorabchian was a snake, but this Mendes is the dad of all snakes.
