Valencia in for Negredo?

Negredo was a fantastic player and his chemistry with the team was brilliant, but you cannot deny the clear change in his entire presence after his shoulder injury.
Having everyone back from injury and looking like they're all good to go and the fact he's the most likely candidate to be dropped due to the rules put on us we have all the right ingredients for spoiling the team atmosphere we're currently experiencing.

If we can get £20 mil+ for him then, for me, this is exactly the right thing to do, prevent any bad feelings with him or any of the more sensitive members of our squad and get the books looking even better with lighter wages and a big boost to the income.

It's not ideal to have no replacement lined up and it makes sense that a few of us are angry, but our hands have been forced, it's our duty as the fans to respect the needs and wants of our players and the decisions of the hierarchy and carry on getting behind the team.

And a more general point, whilst our objective is to challenge on all fronts and hopefully win as many as we can, it is hardly possible to do this. What I'm sure the people in the background and we can agree on is the most important thing is giving ourselves the best possible chances to appear in these competitions, the more chances we get at them the more chances we have to win them.

Keep the faith and I'm sure we'll be rewarded.

Heard that Negredo to Valencia is almost done - now it's a race to get it completed before midnight.

Shite business.

Started the day thinking we're gonna strengthen not weaken!
I bet everyone at City is very disappointed, but it's a long game.

The consolation is that Falcao takes £346k per week out of Man Utd, and not only that they've had to let Welbeck go as well.

Very risky business this blues we could be out ov 3 comps come jan and everybody will blame it on this. I also think city fans will show there frustration with there feet can't see many sell outs this season and defo non in the champs lge. Just hope someone within the club comes out and explains the reasons for it!
Because we sell Negredo the Etihad will be empty because of that? Jesus, talk about flap. I flapped too but not this bad.

I am not happy we are not going to replace him, Iheanacho is a prospect but if we have to rely on him at a point in the season we are in trouble.

Who knows, the lad could hit the ground running.

The problem is not him leaving, the problem is terms of him leaving, i have no idea whatsoever why we loan him out, with a clause forcing Valencia to buy him next season, it is not like they are in some deep financial hole this season, so why delay the payment?

So they can spread their transfer costs over two windows, it's FFP at work and Valencia trying to get around it.

I still don't get it though. It's not like they pay 10m £ now, and 10m £ IF they sign him next season, why not just pay in payments then, and i already said, Valencia should not be in the red FFP wise.

Oh it seems its loan... fucking even worse. well I guess Txiki & Ferran know what they are doing. or better be! Iheanacho could be our 4th striker once he turns 18 in Oct and then gets work permit.

Don't we have to register a squad for the premier league and the champions lge before that!

If there is a £20+ million obligatory clause in the loan deal then I think its a great deal for the club.

It doesn't really matter whether we get a replacement this window as we could always switch to a 4-2-3-1 formation like we played under Mancini. Personally I think that would be our strongest formation which will allow us to accommodate Fern, Nando and Yaya.

If we can end the window with a net spend of below £10 million considering the players we have brought in then it will be a fantastic window. Next summer is when we can really take the shackles off and no team will be able to outbid us for our targets.

Its the same every summer in that genuine world class talent becomes available. This season it was Di Maria and the season before was Ozil. Next season will be no different and when Reus or whoever is after a new challenge, we will be able to go balls deep after them. Where as the likes of Arsenal and United will still be feeling the effects of spending fortunes on the likes of Mata and Ozil and not getting the expected return from them.

Am I right that if we took net spend down to under 10 mm we'd have a runway length of 30 mm + that could be used in January to bolster the squad though? A lot of powder in case of a significant injury in the fall. Frankly that's the most positive spin I can put on AN leaving.

IMO the only positive of going after a player in January is the whole CL issue. As if we sign a top player who is already in a CL team then they will be ineligible to play for us. Hence removing the problem of leaving an important player out of the squad.

A) The rags can afford to pay silly wages like that
B) I'm sure the last thing they will be worrying about is his wages if he is banging in goals for them.
