Iheanacho is so good already that he could possibly play regularly imo but if he doesn't, or Pellegrini doesn't think he's ready, then he needs to go out on loan too. we can't have them doing nothing.

My personal opinion is that if Negredo goes, that's the call a call Pellegrini's made based on Kelechi's performances in pre season. It's one I'd actually be delighted with the more I think about it. That 4th spot should be for a young player with potential and at 17 years old the Nigerian is definitely that. It also gives us breathing space in the CL squad in terms of foreigners.

HE couldnt sign a contract until Oct.. and then couldnt be registered for CL until Jan?

Iheanacho can't get a work permit for another month (when he turns 18) and, even then, he's very raw and would be best loaned out to someone who can give him regular first team football.

if we do lose him i'd like us to move to 1 up top and 5 in midfield....but would like us to sign another CM if we're going down this route.

The doom-monger scenario would be Aguero and Jovetic injured at the same time AND Yaya at AFCON.

Given their recent injury history it is entirely possible Sergio and Jovetic could be injured at the same time - though hopefully not!

Letting Negredo go with no replacement would represent the weirdest piece of business we have done since Txiki has been here.

Though it is pretty clear Negredo doesn't want to be here.

I can't either

We will have done the Valencia deal knowing what we were offering to Mendes/falcao and being aware that he was being hawked around.

Compared to some on here, I guess I'm an optimist, as I don't have any worries about this at all. I'm actually quite excited at the prospect of Kelechi maybe getting a chance this year (if needed), or for us to play with only one striker, as I think that one striker should be the long term aim of our team. I think we could tear it up with a 5 man midfield, I think it would strengthen us and allow us to dominate the ball and take the pressure off our defence.

My only slight dissapointment with this window is loaning out Lopes and Huws, as I think Lopes's directness could of given us an extra option off the bench that we otherwise lack and that Huws could offer us bit more cover in central midfield, but generally I'm delighted with how this window has gone. We cannot expect our young players to break into the team if we don't even leave cracks for them to emerge through, and this way we have barely spent a penny this summer.

I would also quite like us to play with a 5 man midfield much more often and if we did then having the 3 senior strikers would be fine. However, we have a manager who seems desperate to play 442 at all costs and if this is something he wants to carry on doing then we shouldn't leave him in a situation where he will quite likely have to change formation not out of preference but because we have sold someone we didn't need to sell and compounded that by not replacing him. I still won't believe that we are selling Negredo without replacing until we have actually done it because it seems such a stupid and unnecessary risk to take given the terrible injury record Aguero and Jovetic have in recent times and I don't think Txiki is inclined to make stupid decisions.

There hasn't really been much about Negredo in the news today it seems, specially last 2-3 hours. Maybe its not happening.

The only way I could see losing one of our four strikers working would be if made a preemptive strike for Reus and pay $$$ before his release clause kicks in (which isn't going to happen). Have we established whether or not the compulsory sale at the end of the loan period would fall onto this season's budget sheet?
