Fair point about the subconscious bias.first bit I'm taking the piss, would be kinda funny IMO, second bit is what I thing VAR will merge into, subjectivity giving the teacher's pets an edge due to "subconscious bias".
The second bit about VAR judging offside is how I thought it would work before it was introduced last season. I.e. judge it by eye. As a linesman years ago in junior football I realised how hard it is in real time because you have to concentrate all the time, watch for ball out of play, as well as watching the ball being played, as well as watching the back line, and not knowing when it will happen. If you watch a video replay when you know what to look for then it's much easier.
That's how VAR should be used to judge offside. Play it once on video and watch carefully.
