Var debate 2019/20

The third one is confirm that the ref is blind in one eye, and the fourth is to confirm that he is fulfilling the task that his masters at Uefa have given him!!
The ref was poor for both sides, do you really think all Officials area told to screw City by UEFA? If this was endemic at some stage an ex referee would be able to sell his story for a lot of money. It doesn’t happen.

However it’s probably a general attitude amongst a lot involved with Uefa that we have scant regard for the competition, that will have a sub conscious effect on their decisions.

Eg, was that a penalty for City? Fuck em, they don’t like us, no, was that a penalty for Barca, course it was, they embrace the CL.

I understand the history of the contempt for the European governing body but are we going to remain so bitter for ever? It will cost us in the long run.

Couldn't really see the penalty shouts from the South stand, were they really as clear cut as people are suggesting? BT youtube highlights only show the one on Gundogan in their youtube highlights.

to be honest, yesterday morning I've read UEFA's statement that only clear and obvious errors on offsides will be called by VAR. That's up there with Sterling or one Spurs had s Leicester, it's not clear and obvious and that statement came earlier than this situation.

It looks like the Bruges player's foot is off the ground, which makes it look further upfield than it is as well.
Generally, I agree, that still proves nothing.

Not only have Uefa brought in a set of 'new' rules to protect the cartel in which they can harvest debts of billions (if you added them all together) but any interlopers into their closed shop (namely us) cannot put their own money in.

Not only have Uefa systematically f*cked us over in pretty much every single season we have been in the Champions League including changing the handball rule on the spot and allowing one of those pointless linesman behind the goal to award a penalty against us (something I'd never seen before or have since) with countless other instances that are too many to mention.

Not only have Uefa have rabidly pursued us in effort to subdue us or get us thrown out of their bent competition at every single turn including reopening an already dealt with case due to the say so of a soon to be convicted criminal and quite obvious pressure from the cartel.

Yet some people still believe there is no real reason to suggest they are out to get us. The perception of some people is either f*cked or they are just wum's with f*ck better to do.

One thing I've learnt in this world is if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck & quacks like a duck it's a f*cking duck. Some on here would have you believe it's a duck billed Platypus.

Ignore them, it's a f*cking duck!

I thought the two shouts for penaltys on Gundogan & Silva were debatable and could go either way.

I didn't see the handball one whilst at the game, as it was down the other end, and i wasn't even aware it had happened until i saw the highlights when i got home, but having seen it and given what penaltys were given for last year in this competiton i can't understand why it wasn't given. Was it picked up straight away on TV, and did they offer any explanation as to why it wasn't given?

I was certain the one on Aguero was a penalty when it happened, and was very surprised it wasn't given by VAR. On the highlights it still looked like a stonewall penalty, the ref gave a corner, but on the replay i saw it looked like Aguero was fouled and had the last touch before it went out of play, did they say why that hadn't been given on the Commentary?

Did BT make any comments about the decisions that went against us last night?
Watched the full match on BT when I got in. To be fair the pundits, even Peter Walton, slaughtered the ref and the VAR team. The handball and the foul on Sergio were clear penalties. The Sergio decison was totally absurd. The replay showed a stonewall penalty. The presenter made the point that seven officials had apparently missed it. Even Chris Sutton said we had been robbed.

I think there's definitely a subconscious bias against us domestically and in Europe.

Refs also know that the fallout and public criticism if they make a bad decision against us doesn't come close to what they cop when they make a decision for us or against one of the history teams.

But I don't know why the club or supporters should just accept it. We should be bitter until it stops. It costs us money, games and potentially trophies.

Fuck them. Their job is to get it right for all teams.

On TV -
The Sterling one was a foul but I thought outside of the area, so a free kick not a pen
The Gundogan incident was a forearm to the face, so yes a pen
The Aguero one just after, the defender clearly gets the ball, so no pen.
