Var debate 2019/20

There is time yet for similar to happen to the dippers.

Karma is a ****.
Honestly it's bad enough we have the media to ignore, but we have to put up with them gloating in a harsh defeat for us here.

I hope it does happen to them because a moan from us about it is understandable but we will move on... It will ruin their season if they have to deal with anything like that because they are so entitled, they are incapable of doing the same.

Last touch comes of Laporte hand
No it doesn't there would be movement on his hand if there was, it does look like it from certain angles but it comes off Llorente. That would be irrelevant anyway, the handball after the handball.

Last touch comes of Laporte hand

Doubtful, dubious or any other word you care to substitute, but one very important word "IRRELEVANT" Once it hits Llorente's hand , don't matter what happens next, before ball ends up in goal - handball, AS EUFA HAVE DIRECTED!!

The consensus amongst football people outside of City is that the decisions were correct. I have been influenced both ways reading the opinion but can't summon up any feelings of outrage. If I read the rules and look at the video evidence I can see that the decisions are consistent with the rules. There is a grey area over UEFA guidance and pending changes that muddy the waters, but I am going with how the game has been interpreted in the past and I believe that Aguero was cm offside and that the handball was not deliberate. You can say that that means it's not a goal but the rules do not say that and until they change, they apply. That is what a nutty observer would say.
slightly edited. :-)

The law has never been applied in this way before is what so many are missing... I have a feeling they will find more daft holes in the law that were left down to the refs common sense applied within the spirit of the game. Some of the arguments are pure lawyer speak and that's unsettling.

VAR is not at all a joke. Sometimes VAR takes too long - and maybe on occasion you disagree with the VAR ruling.

AI is on the cusp - IMO - of replacing all refereeing in top-league officiating. AI is simply an algorithm - ostensibly without bias - but is found to be with bias - correctable.

Far from a joke - VAR is the gate to fair play, provably neutral, officiated by AI.

As long as they quickly learn from mistakes and iron out any loopholes still left within the written laws... I'd agree it's not a joke and it will get more calls right than wrong(lets hope it rings true for all clubs and not some over others). Also I hope that BT or Sky have no control whatsoever, or that needs changing, they are not impartial.

Currently it is a joke. I am thinking from your user name you are saying VAR isn’t a joke because you sit at home watching it on TV. Try going to every game and try standing there when the big screen says “VAR Review” and looking around wondering what the fxxk is happening. Thinking “I am so glad I paid for my return flight to the game, hotel and match ticket. I could have stayed at home paid buttons to watch it on Tv” like a load of neutrals and vaguely interested TV viewers and actually be watching the VAR replays. But instead i am 400 quid down and no Fxxkin idea what is going on. VAR is utter sh1te

The nonsense from Lineker and Hoddle on BT last night was pathetic.

I'm no fan of The Camel Gob but even he was trying to say he thought it was handball, Lineker wouldn't let him get a word in and went straight to that loony Hoddle who was just rambling shit in the corner.

I've just emailed BT Sport to complain about Linekers bias in the post match analysis last night.

He's an unprofessional twat, even Rat Boy makes a better effort to be even handed during his punditry.

Yup, Ferdinand was right in what he was saying and pointed out the 'skin rippling' on Llorente's arm suggesting the ball had hit his arm.

That pair of dickheads (Hoddle & Lineker) literally just laughed at him and disagreed with anything he said. Pair of wankers. I'll be fucking BT Sport off.

I honestly prefer the days when it was just Sky, they are still biased but BT are worse and we have a situation where the City haters can say "well they can't both be wrong can they"... Yes they fucking can.

I think it's really bad and sad that people can not just accept that we got beat.

The world is divided. Conspiracies exist. People are oppressed and exploited but football is our escape. I do not accept that the game is that warped to the point that Manchester City are being cheated at every available opportunity.

The conspiracy angle is untenable and very poor sporting behaviour below the standards I would expect from City fans. Spurs beat us fair and square. Accept it and move on.

I'm perhaps misrepresenting your opinion here SilverFox. i normally agree with most things you say, I am just reacting to a theme I am seeing from City fans of being cheated. We weren't cheated. Decisions may have been made incorrectly but I believe for the most part the game is clean and honest.
We didn’t lose fair and square
Lloronte admitted it was handball.

Pretty easy to set up rules for var and be total transparent but the fa and uefa dont want that they want it to be all cloak and dagger.

This, the whole statement about all relevant images available to ref is absolute bollocks,as we know and they know and the rest of the world knows that other images/video was available but they didn’t want to use them, why is that is the question..Next season can’t come quick enough for me just for the fact of seeing teams still being fucked over but this time with the fantastic var involved, money, corruption, more money, the only major league in Europe that hasn’t been involved in any sort of corruption yeah dead on ...
