Not enough talk about the aspect of VAR that allows the linesman not to raise his flag and stop play, but allow play to continue. It's going to take a high-profile injury caused by this ruling before it's changed.
Likewise, with VAR - the immediate decisions are taken away from on-field referees. They will now allow the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th phases of play to continue, whereas before *whistle, foul.
In my mind, that's not ensuring the safety of the players. Raul Jiminez, Petr Cech, Steven Davies, Ian Hume - life-threatening head injuries; or David Buust, Eduardo, Ramsey, etc. level injuries. will have to happen before authorities realize this is a risk.
