if you get chance to watch game again, some of his passing was bang on and he was the only one trying to pick a forward pass - having said that he is too slow

Absolutely shite.
He's slower than Hamann and hasn't the desire or hunger any more, he's won everything there is to win and can't be arsed now.
Vieira at Arsenal was one of the best ever in the Prem, Vieira at City is very poor and I'm being kind.

I'm not rading 13 pages so here is my opinion. Slow? Yes however Barry is hardly Usain Bolt. Ireland has been shit all season and.....Oh thats it.
I thought he did well, when the game is played at his pace and he gets time he can pick a pass(1st goal) which no other player seems capable of. That said i wouldn't play Vs Spurs, Utd Arsenal but against teams that will sit back(Brum, Burnley) he should be ok

He can pick out a pass, I'll give him that. Maybe Bobby should play Vieira in the hole and Barry & Nige at DM....save the old man all that running!

Other than Arsenal at home in August can you tell me when Barry was effective and 'ran' a game. Very true. Fucking disgraceful behaviour that. To hear a Blue shouting "you're shit Vieira" is just pathetic and sad. He was formerly a great of the game and he still retains a lot of experience which I guess is why he was brought to the club. As a previous poster also stated he has a similar pace to de Jong and Barry and at least looks forward, so why he is being singled out I don't know. He won't set the world alight, but he has barely played for us, some people need to have more patience and understanding before getting on players backs.

I dont care if he was once a legend and won things for another team, he is miles off the pace and gave the ball away so many times. Patience is ok when you have the luxury of time, but its the end of the season and we need all players to be at their best not ones who get made to look second rate against a poor wigan side

Who would u play instead? I cannot think of 1 of our mid-field players who can honestly say they deserve to play instead of him. Barry, very poor season and a huge let down, Ireland has been awful and de0jong played today and didn't stand out. Any other suggestions?
