I dont care if he was once a legend and won things for another team, he is miles off the pace and gave the ball away so many times. Patience is ok when you have the luxury of time, but its the end of the season and we need all players to be at their best not ones who get made to look second rate against a poor wigan side

Who would u play instead? I cannot think of 1 of our mid-field players who can honestly say they deserve to play instead of him. Barry, very poor season and a huge let down, Ireland has been awful and de0jong played today and didn't stand out. Any other suggestions?

You said it for me.

If we had not made changes to the midfield tonight after the Everton performances and failed to pick up the 3 points there would have been uproar.

Macini has had 30 days to address the inept midfield assembled by Hughes.

I'm not saying Barry, De Jong or Ireland are shite but it has just not worked and it's our midfield that fails to dictate game after game.

Macini has took a punt on Vieira, because he knows we are shite in midfield, and it's not worked. I fully expect Vieira to leave in May and Mancini have a real go at creating a midfield with a proper blend.

Wigans best player,

shit from start to finish, backed out of every tackle all night, let players run past him, he didn't look arsed, he is well past it, simple as.

before people say well he set up the 1st, yeh he did, the only thing all night, does that make up for the other 94minutes and 30 seconds?

no, he's not good enough, complete liability, always plays for fouls, gone in the summer.

Bit harsh, I agree he is past it though.

Still doesn't deserve to be booed.

Short term signing and will be gone in a couple of months

i agree, didn't deserve to get booed, that was ridiculous and i wasn't one of the ones booing at the game, but he's just rubbish.

Some so-called City fans were an abject disgrace tonight.

At least Vieira looked to take responsibility and tried to make things happen.

As opposed to de-jong who HID and did fuck-all apart from commit unnescessary fouls because he is too slow to make a clean tackle and can't run or pass.

Have to disagree with you there regarding DJ,

His job is to tackle and pass to the nearest player, nothing more. He's no playmaker, did a lot of running tonight and did his job.

are we talking about the de jong who constantly won the ball back all night?

the de jong who puts his heart and soul into it and actually played for the badge tonight?

the de jong who was doing double the work in the middle because vieira was jogging all night?

the de jong who never stopped running and came out of position to make things happen?

the de jong who didn't back out of a tackle all night like vieira kept doing?

the de jong who puts his body on the line every week?

the de jong who tonight made at least 5 tackles tonight which stopped wigan breaking loose on the counter with a 4 on 3?

the de jong who made more complete passes then vieira did all game?

Vieira didn't make anything happen and didn't take responsibility, he did one thing for 30 seconds, apart from that he was dreadful.

Vieira made the incisive breakthrough pass.

de-jong chased shadows and was by-passed all night, but hey-ho he did one trademark bycycle-kick overhead clearance to keep the kids happy.

absolutely 100% disagree with you, De Jong was class again as always, especially as he was playing for 2 players with Vieira playing shite. imo the people who think that De Jong plays shit are those who cant understand that he is there to do a job and thats to protect the back 4, break up the game and keep finding the easy ball which he completes with ease every game

so he plays for 30 seconds from 94 minutes and that makes him good does it?

oh brilliant.

De jong did double the work because of Vieira, just watch the highlights again, vieira spent the night jogging about like he was on the training pitch, he didn't look arsed once.

if you are going on about the assist he means the first goal that got chipped over and the keeper fucked up and let tevez and ade in. it was vieira that chipped it
No, I'm going on about his opinion of DJs contribution tonight

I like Viera, he's a good, but not great, player which is what we need in a midfield with De Jong/Ireland/Barry/etc.

Actually, I think I may have already written this post before, so I'll just leave it.

But yeah, never boo a blue.
