It's only a matter of time before he is back to his best........and that version of Vincent Komapny is the best centre back in the league if not world.

Just shows how good Kompany is - when his form slightly dips the defense looks a shambles. Mainly because Lescott isnt good enough, never was, and never will be..............................truly dreadful again yesterday and baled out by his team mates over and over again, and some abysmal finishing by WBA - positioning at times was a joke. 'Distribution' , just like his 'pace' is non existent. Total liability - at least im brave enough to say so and is an honest assessment.

Unfortunately because we didnt go all out to buy a world class CB (as I kept on saying here that we should as a priority) this will cost us on big games later in the Season.

Woah woah woah woah, that's harsh on Lescott. When out defence was in shambles, most of time it was either Nastasic was playing, who is too young to hold the entire defence, or we were dicking around with the 3-men defence.

We conceded against WBA because we were playing with ten-men, and still we managed to keep Shane Long quiet till Odemwingie came in. And there's a difference between distribution and blatantly throwing possession away. Players like Gallas throw the ball away, Lescott keeps it simple because he knows he can't playmake from the back.

If anything, I believe Vinnie's distribution is worse off than Lescott's.

Distribution to me means making a positive move for the team - Lescott's idea of that is to abdicate responsibility to Hart to hoof it up field on his behalf - if thats acceptable only on the basis that he 'doesnt give the ball away' then im sorry, I expect a little bit more.
He never passes forwards - its like watching crab football and always stalls the momentum of the team.

I'm happy with lescott's distribution, its improved loads since he joined the club. not everyone can have yaya toure or silva like vision, lescott's job is to give it simple to barry, kompany, clichy or yaya then so be it, he's not in the team for his defence-splitting through balls

Fucking sick of reading this kind of shite directed at one of the best central defenders City have ever had. Lescott can & does pass forwards, he just tries not to waste the ball by pretending he's better than he actually is & if you actually watch the fucking game rather than just talking through your arse, you can go back to yesterday & see Lescott passing the ball with great confidence FORWARD to our midfield, until Vinny decides he's Beckenbaur & fucks up the whole thing.

There is no need for defenders to be playmakers if the team is functioning properly, it is their responsibility not to waste the ball. Vinny wastes the ball more than JL but their job is to defend & last season, they were the best pair in the country. They will be again if they are left to sort it out.

Apart from his weird dribbling which got Jimmy sent off, I thought he had a decent game today, didn't notice him which is always a sign of a good defender.

There was a fair bit of traffic through his area in the second half and its only thanks to Joe and not great finishing by the opponents that Vinnie didn't end up being responsible for the loss. Should be working much harder.

From what I could see on our slightly jumpy stream, I thought Joleon had a decent game, considering we were missing one of our central / defensive midfielders for more than 75% of the game.

And I've noticed at home matches (we can't afford away games) that he passes the ball out of defense as often, if not more often than he hoofs it clear.

ANY1ABLUE, you're obviously just a Lescott hater, who can't or won't see any good points about him.

When he makes a mistake, it's costly! But I would rather see him make an occasional error than be without him.
He's out captain and I feel he's getting better, his team management on the field is beyond reproach!
Come on VK.

Then, do you regard Vidic as a good defender?

Agree. I love me some Lescott.

Vinny is obviously the one having a hard time currently. I have no doubt that this is only temporary and that he will get back in form, but sooner would be better than later. We need our captain at his best!
