Just watched a re run of game the commentator never mentioned the ball being out in real time only after second replay did they make mention of it
Made me laugh
The definitive angle would be directly overhead, but that doesn't seem to be an option. The balance of probability would suggest that the ball was over the line but, oddly enough, I didn't lose that much sleep over it last night. Ho hum.
I see this shit all the time in football. Nearly every week I see the whistle blown when the ball has not crossed the line. People don't seem to get that the WHOLE of the ball has to have crossed the WHOLE of the line. People seem to look at the parts of the ball that are touching the grass, but the ball is significantly wider than that. I keep looking at it, and apart from my obvious bias, I'm convinced that the whole ball did not cross the whole of the line.
Calm down. I was simply offering an opInion. Or is that not allowed now?For the umpteenth time, you do NOT need to be overhead to get the definitive view. ANY view directly along the line gives you the same view as to whether the ball is over or not. How high up you view from makes NO difference to what you see.
We have a clear and definitive view along the line and the ball is definitively out, end of debate. Their is no room for argument here - no "balance of probability" etc. As a statement of incontrovertible fact, the ball went out.
