He really is not the best crosser at City, better than Clichy granted but because he is a full back and City often overload on the left he gets more space and time to cross than any other player at City. Navas and Milner are both miles better but are generally far more tightly marked and have to put their crosses in under much greater pressure.

He's not a left-sided midfielder by any stretch of the imagination. His game is all about exploiting space on the overlap, which is why he plays fullback.
