David Moyes confirms Andy Carroll and Chicharito will miss West Ham's game against City. Winston Reid faces a late fitness test, while Jose Fonte is a long-term absentee.

No worries here. Expect some original bus parking from the football genius. 3-0.

At least Carroll's elbows won't be maiming anybody which is a bonus.

We may be trying to obtain such an unassailable lead in the league before we start to rotate more. The teams you are citing of rotating better than us are considerable behind in the league at the moment, so their rotation policy isn't working out too well is it?

Won't be unassailable though if we burn out the majority of our team all at once and we go through a bad spell because they're all knackered at crucial periods of the season. As for rotation not working for others, they're winning the games they've rotated in, their problem is they're just not as good as us to keep pace.

I'm not against rotating to keep the squad fresh, but I just don't think all these decisions should be made with just the derby in mind. I think it should be just one or two on rotation rather than four or five. I think that's better on for the players coming in too.

I agree with your suggestion of a few changes rather than widespread changes but those should absolutely be the players in danger of missing the Derby. We should win comfortably this weekend without them, not as easily done next week without them though.

Hopefully Zabba's return and fantastic standing ovation will then be followed with Sané tearing him to pieces. As harsh as it sounds, Sané v Zab is quite clearly our huge advantage in this match. Sané jogging is faster than Zab at full pelt. Show no mercy and get the win.

Zab and Hart on the opposite team. Expect both to get a good reception from us. But when the game starts it’s sentiment aside. We need a convincing victory to get an important week starting. Think it’ll be easier than vs Saints, unless Hart plays like he did vs Dortmund 1-1 or Spurs 0-0.
Let’s keep the homerecord in tact.

Hart can't play, he's on loan.

If the rags lose to Arsenal I expect an interesting....cough....performance from the officials. No way will the powers that be want us going 11 points clear so early in the season.

We need to rest our players one booking from a suspension, with them on the bench if needed late on. B. Silva looked decent when he came on late so should be able to do a job, hopefully Gundogan or Toure to fill in for Ferna.

West Ham are awful. Our second team should win this (even though I am temping the Typical City Gods here).
So baring in mind the trip to Kharkiv I would play Folden and Bernardo together in both games in the centre. Hell, why not play Gundogan instead of Fernandinho too!

I very rarely see managers resting players in case of suspension and I wouldn't expect Pep to, particularly with Vinny who clearly needs match practice . We also have a full 7 days to rest any player who needs it as there are no players who have to be chosen midweek. I might rest Fern as he has had an awful lot of football under his belt this season and is pretty difficult to replace.
I would go

Ederson
Walker Kompany Ottamendi Delph
Silva De Bruyne Gundogan
Sterling Jesus Sane

Ederson
Walker Vinny Otta Danilo
Delph
De bruyne Silva
Sterling. Sergio. Sane

A steady 2 nil with no drama or injuries.

I just hope Pep rests Leroy and Fern. We really should back ourselves to beat West Ham without them and it would be a bit of a blow to go to the swamp missing either of them.

Sane, vinny and dinho should not play as we need them for the derby,we get yellows for looking at the other players so don't play them,we have a squad so use them

The longer this run continues the more nervous I get lol. Be interesting to see if the squad gets rotated but this should be an easy win. Anyone think we can score a lot of goals??

rest ferdy and kev to aviod ferdy yellow and give kev a break.

Ederson
Walker Vinny Otta Delph
Gundongen
Bernardo Silva
Sterling. Sergio. Sane

Sorry but what does a 7 days rest have to do with the suspension issue? If Dinho, Leroy or Vinny are booked on Sunday, they will automatically miss the United game. They need to be nowhere near the squad for West Ham, except possibly Leroy on the bench as a very last resort if we fail to score. Personally I would prefer Zinchenko on the left.

Because first and foremost Pep will be thinking about 3 points on Sunday and hopefully a 10 or 11 point lead, getting too clever and too far ahead is how teams trip themselves up. If we get a suspension to deal with he'll deal with it.

7 days rest is nothing to do with the suspension, I was making two separate points .
Point 1) Managers don't tend to rest players in case of suspension
Point 2) There is less need to rest players for the united game for tiredness as there are no intervening games they have to play. Although from an overall number of games played some players may benefit from a full 11 days rest. Fern and possibly Kev fall into this category for me.

I would definitely play Vinnie, he needs match practice.
