West Ham - post match thread

If Marriner had done his job we would have been playing against 9 men by the time Nasri came on bunch of thugs.

Great 1st half, sloppy in the 2nd half. If we had got the 3rd goal we would have gone and won by a few more. All part of the learning process. Sterling was quality. Nice cameo by Nasri aswelk at the end.

Missed the the first half but from what I regard we were on fire. If we got the 3rd when Aguero was onside we would have cruised to the win but the lineman is blind and they got a simple goal on the back of some poor defending.

Zaba has shown for a little while he cant deal with quick players 1on1 and it showed where he got turned twice and didnt get close to stopping the cross. The lad with the massive head nodding in at the back post with Ota out of position slightly and Clichy on his heels, but that is the sort of cross which is hard to defend when they get the run on the defenders.

Despite how much Quin tried to convince everyone we weren't that rattled and still created a number of chances to close out the game before Sterling got the 3rd. I would say we looked tired towards the end and that resulted in our shape becoming a bit disjointed when players werent as quick to make a passing option.

On the whole a very good performance which shouldn't be spoilt by a poor spell towards the end. Only a handful of games with Pep and its so exciting to see his ideas on the pitch so quickly.

It's frightening to think how good we will be in 6-10 games
Bravo, Gundogan, Sané added to an ever improving understanding of the system

What has Pep done to Kola? His sub suddenly made our backline calmer (not entirely calm) but I would hv never imagined it. Clichy had a mare, was ball-watching during the goal.

If we had converted our chances, we would hv hit double figures! Seeing the way we transitioned, Mou wud be scared to attack us. Our weakness remains our full-back against whom opposition wide-men should continuosly run behnd the line. They cant do it for full 90 but effectively teams will sacrifice midfield for us. This was an ideal preparation for bigger tests in the league.
